I have been working at Portland Athletic Club full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Stable long term type of employment. Good Tennis Club, great for the kids. One large tenant for gymnastics is good for business.

    Cons

Don't run foul of the Owner. Very set in his ways and often times angry. He likes to give the day off with no pay before he gives any chance for explanation. He's been at it 37 years and stifles his son by calling him overweight and unacomplished. Even though his son has created his own succesful tennis business and is a Head Pro at Nike.

    Advice to Management

Let some of the senior staff retire gracefully. An 84 year old office manager that doesn't want work to come in because it causes her to work harder is not good for business
