I have been working at Portugal Telecom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some interesting activites and challenges in some areas inside the group, but the options are limited.

    Cons

The processes, in general, are so heavy and outdated that don't allow for much creativity and innovation. The group is also very bad when it comes to HR management - there is hardly a career evolution, or wage evolution for that matter, and there is absolutely no tailored HR management.

    Advice to Management

People are the best asset in PT, focus on them - know them and value them, fairly.

    Pros

Good benefits and compensation comparing with the general Portuguese market.
The company is leader in all businesses. It is a stable company and generally doesn't fire people.

    Cons

It is difficult do be promoted. You can have an amazing performance deliver great result, but if you don't know the right people and do some favors you never get promoted. Several young professionals end leaving the company because of that.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to motivate people. Mostly the good young professionals that you still have working in the company. If you don't do it the company will be crowded with old and conservative people.
