    Pros

    They always feed you and the travel reimbursements always exceed what you actually spend.

    Cons

    Employees are not treated horribly but they care about their bottom line more than the employees and it shows

    Advice to Management

    All travel (to and from client) should be billable or billable hours should be reduced to reflect the amount of hours auditors actually travel.

    Great experience being exposed to technical topics if you are good with learning and researching on your own with little to no input from upper management.

    The culture is horrible and very individualistic.

    Great people to work with Competitive salary Pretty good benefits

    Cons

    Never feel like you are getting enough credit for good work. Management either complains you are working too many hours and going over budget, or working too little and not reaching your hourly goal

    Advice to Management

    You can’t budget people 40 hours on a job and then complain they are not reaching the required 50 hours of work. You have to pick either the budget or the hourly goal.

    Work life balance. Great benefits, especially PTO. Opportunity to grow.

    Cons

    Every job has cons. The issues in the firm are in most firms. I think most people who have negative comments, don’t understand that would apply to any public accounting firm.

    Pros

    Benefits are decent and PTO policy is nice. Work/life balance can be achieved in my experience.

    Cons

    The biggest con is that the company doesn't promote based on talent. There is a noticeable amount of favoritism, particularly with employees that are politically connected in some manner. In that sense, the firm lives up to its Louisiana heritage.

    Advice to Management

    Hire and promote based on talent, not where your employees went to high school.

    I have been working at Postlethwaite & Netterville, APAC part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    I love the work culture at this firm, everyone is so friendly and willing to have fun during and after work. As an intern, everyone is so willing to help towards your development in a professional career. Because this is a regional firm, you get more exposure to all parts of the process in completion of the audit.

    Cons

    In the summer, auditing in slow, so you do not get as much exposure to what auditing would be like, but that is the nature of the profession. Inversely, between Sepember- April there is always work to be done.

    Advice to Management

    The only advise to my superiors would be to plan more about what work there is to be done, that can be done by an intern, on each project.
