I worked at Potashcorp full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pays well, trains well, offers great opportunity to advance and take classes to further your career.

    Cons

After watching many rounds of lay offs, I became laid off myself. Being a very dedicated worker that almost never had a call in sick day, always worked overtime when asked, and always took my job with the utmost seriousness, it was horrible to wonder f I would be in the round of layoffs. My coworkers left behind are terrified they will be next. Its a tough position to be in to be laid off right before Christmas. Not only did it make Christmas horrible, but the wait through the holidays for hiring managers to be back to work at other companies that I have applied to, has been excruciating.

    Advice to Management

    job security is important.

    Pros

Very well run company. Employees and safety definitely come first. Laid back environment, but could get very fast paced, very quickly.

    Advice to Management

IT should be it's own department. Get it out from under Finance.

I have been working at Potashcorp full-time

    Pros

Opportunity to work on a lot of interesting projects. Company gives a lot of responsibility. Last 10 years was mainly expansion work, which was very exciting, but the expansions are coming to an end with the market downturn.

    Cons

Archaic benefits package that skirts around Canadian Labor laws - Company does not pay for health insurance when you are on maternity/paternity leave, leaving you high and dry.

    Advice to Management

Fix some of the outdated HR policies -
