I have been working at Potbelly Sandwich Works part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Quick-learning environment, easy-going, lot of leg-room in decision making, fast and fun coworkers, learning the more polished end of the fast food business. Just a great experience for anyone looking to add some serious businesses to their resume.

    Cons

Pay is too low. Pay is too low. Pay is too low. Pay is too low. Pay is too low.

    Advice to Management

Do more hands-on teaching with trainees so lessons can be picked up faster instead of just watching a video and learning as we go.

I worked at Potbelly Sandwich Works full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly customers. Friendly co-workers. Company organized events outside of the shop. Low stress. Seriously if you think this job is stressful then the real world is going to rip you to shreds.

    Cons

Not having any mats to stand on. As a prep-associate my knees really started to take a beating after having to stand for hours on the hard tile five days a week. Also, a second slicer would have been nice.

    Advice to Management

Don't promise people a management position during an interview based on the fact they were a manager somewhere else. Those people usual suck the most and refuse to learn the job properly.

I have been working at Potbelly Sandwich Works full-time

    Pros

Great training and development programs in place...I've seen many people excel and move up in positions over the years. If you are performing well, and express interest in moving up, there is plenty of opportunity, since we are in growth mode. The people who work at Potbelly are great.

    Cons

I can't really think of anything..maybe more office space since we are growing? Hard to find conference space at times.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work

I worked at Potbelly Sandwich Works part-time

    Pros

I have worked at different shops, and I have only met really amazing people. Work was a lot of fun, and pretty easy to do. This was my first job and I am satisfied with it.

    Cons

Was often sent home early due to it being overstaffed for a shift. The hours given were not very consistent either, which was quite frustrating.

I worked at Potbelly Sandwich Works part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The culture of the company is very open to consumer and staff input. The work atmosphere is fun and not stressful. It is a very flexible company.

    Cons

It is a restaurant, so there are times where you have to work on the weekends and week nights. The hourly rate could be more competitive and employee benefits could be improved with offering stock options.
