I have been working at Praxair (More than a year)

    Pros

Great job security and stability. Good potential for advancement. Benefits are competitive 401k with company match. 2 weeks off your first full year.

    Cons

Company seems to operate so lean that sometimes leads to shooting themselves in the foot. My local branch has one person in store- the branch manager who is way over loaded. And 2 truck drivers.... we do between 4-5 million dollars a year. Workload is unrealistic.

    Advice to Management

Hire an appropriate amount of staff at Branches.

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Company with a solid history
Great way to get a foot in the door and have a pretty well known company on your resume .

    Cons

    Company culture is horrible.
Favoritism is very apparent, those that are favored can do as they please with as little work as possible while those who aren't clearly as favored get all of the grunt work. Not to mention listening to your supervisor sit in front of you on the phone making personal calls all day long is extremely ridiculous.

    Advice to Management

Honestly unless the entire company does a shake up and cleans out the management that is the source of the problem nothing will change.

I have been working at Praxair full-time

    Pros

We design and build high tech equipment that we integrate into robotic thermal spray cells. These spray cells are used all over the world for anything from aircraft engine parts to oil well drills to wind mill components. Everyday brings a new and exciting challenge. We also have a great team atmosphere where everybody does what it takes to make each project a success.

    Cons

We are part of a big company (which is also a positive) which means we do have a little red tape to deal with at times. All in all it is not a big deal.

    Advice to Management

Keep bringing in more work. We love the challenge to take our company to the next level.
