I have been working at Praxair (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very consistent sales and higher profit margins compared to industry. This leads to very stable employment. Many workers here are lifers who have worked for the company for 20+ years.

    Cons

Management is reluctant to hire the positions necessary to run the business efficiently. Most workers are over-worked and not paid enough to reflect that extra work.

I have been working at Praxair full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company is doing well financially, Pay raises are small, Large company, many options and locations, most locations are in not nice places, though. Most employees are nice normal people. Good work life balance

    Cons

Pay is below average, Middle Management is clueless, Employees are not recognized for their work, only for their connections. The Good old boy club is in charge. Praxair manager discourage employees from moving up the ladder via a different department and are "Blocked" by management from changing jobs

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the "Blocking" internal moves, as many good employees just go elsewhere, pay raises force many people to look elsewhere
