I worked at Praxair full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Praxair expects all employees to work safely and behave ethically. You will be provided with proper training and equipment to get the job done. You will be expected to do the job correctly every time. If you buy-in to the culture then they will take very good care of you.

    Cons

Mandatory overtime (55-65 hours per week). Nights/weekends for the first few years.

    Advice to Management

Better work life balance for bulk drivers. Living wage without overtime will make for happier drivers!

I worked at Praxair full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Job security, great peers and fantastic, comprehensive benefits. The pay is fair to excellent. Management checks in a lot but is fair.

    Cons

It got very stressful at times with uncertain requests and deadlines. It can be hard to get a response because of waiting for answers from a chain of command.

    Advice to Management

Just be honest if you won’t get an answer for a while.

I worked at Praxair full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Praxair is a global company, giving you the opportunity to learn about people, cultures and business around the world. It is well run, and sells to so many industries that it is quite stable, even in downturns. Its employees tend to be fairly loyal and stay for a long time.

    Cons

This can be a pro or con, depending on your perspective. Praxair is a very frugal company. The investors love this, employees not so much. I believe pay and benefits are commensurate with other companies in the area, but the online tools employees are given to use (e.g. expense reporting and HR systems) are usually cheaper and harder to use than "industry standard."
