    Pros

Great Salary, office space & Co-workers

    Cons

Poor Health Benefits, work overload creating long hours on the job, no help or support from Corp office, Canadian employees receive promotions, better reviews and higher salary increases. Performance Goal Assessments are not honored - misused. Employee file records are changed without notification to the employee.

    Advice to Management

    Advice is of no use.

    Pros

Making life time friends, get into physical shape.

    Cons

Unsafe, back stabbing, lots of catch 22 scenarios. People get fired for ridiculous things when some people literally have killed other people and still have a job.

    Advice to Management

Get outta cloud 9 or your gonna end up with a lawsuit.

    Pros

They were willing to send me to training. I wanted to get back into Environmental and Safety work, and I took training for it, but they didn't want me to do it.

    Cons

I was laid off, but they told the Unemployment Office that I was fired. They need to be more straightforward with what they want when they hire people.

    Advice to Management

I think they should do a better job of supporting people who want to spend time with their families. They had a lot of demands to travel and teach classes that were not a part of my job when I got hired.

I worked at Precision Drilling full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good Gateway company to get your feet wet in the oil and gas industry. Great office environment and nice co-workers.

    Cons

Management has major problems that will result in this company having to restructure in order to succeed. HR is useless and no opportunity for training or career growth (unless you are related to the founder). Male driven company. Women are not taken seriously or considered for important roles.

    Advice to Management

Find out what it is that your employee development dept does. They haven't offered training in 5 years. Develop development plans for each and every employee so they know where they are headed. This is what the big boys do.

I worked at Precision Drilling full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None. Avoid working here if possible.

    Cons

Lack of training. Rude coworkers. You're basically set up to fail and then they get mad when you make mistakes. Worst place I've ever worked. You get in trouble if you talk to one another. Everyone works with their headphones on.

    Advice to Management

Train your employees. Improve office culture.

I worked at Precision Drilling full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay started out well, but structure changed 3 times in the 2 years i was employed there.

    Cons

Everyone and i mean everyone is out for themselves. From new hires, to hr, to regional manager up. On paper, they train you. Classes are way more of a joke. They also put walking morons as operations managers.

    Advice to Management

Key beliefs? If you even think anyone.. ANYONE, practices these out in the field, maybe you should check into a nut house. I have no respect for you as you deserve none. This company is the most phony company i have ever worked for. I did not get fired. I am not a disgruntled ex employee. I just am telling it as it is.

I worked at Precision Drilling full-time

    Pros

International benefits were great for the family

    Cons

Management does not promote a safe work environment. We are expected to work with nationals that have had no drilling operation knowledge or experience. The nationals are able to treat the drilling crew leaders in any manner they please with no repercussions.
There is no promotion from within. This is a "Good Ole Boys" club - if you are not Canadian, regardless of your ability and skill, you will go unnoticed. The Toolpushers have no accountability and can provide unsafe direction while allowing the responsibility and any negative outcomes to fall on the drillers.
HR is incompetent - they make no logical decisions regarding employee travel, benefit coordination, etc...

    Advice to Management

Promote from within and stop discriminating.

    Pros

Get's you into the Oil & Gas industry

    Cons

Core values are just a piece of paper
Must wait over 90 days to be eligible for health insurance
No work life balance - expect to be expected to work long hours
U.S. employees are second class to Canadian
Lack of flexibility - which prevents growth
Lack of knowledgeable management to prevent or correct problems
Lack of anonymity – retaliation against employees

    Advice to Management

Find out what your managers are doing, how they are treating their employees. Realize that in order to employee top notch personnel, you will have to pay competitive salaries.
