    Pros

•Part of a bigger picture, KAR Global •Causal yet professional work environment •Amazing work/life balance compared to other areas of the automotive industry •Great benefits including excellent PTO that is avail after 30 days •401k match up to 4% •Fair and comparable medical, dental, vision benefits •Great culture, great coworkers •Management genuinely cares about both your well being as well as the departments •Management is transparent and gives information, updates as they have them - they don’t play the typical “corporate politics” that a lot of companies fall victim •Unprecedented growth within PWI as well as KAR so plenty of opportunities for growth and advancement

    Cons

PWI was acquired by KAR a few years back, plenty of folks recall “they way things were done” prior to KAR. This can cause some transitional pains but overall the Customer Service Reps, Adjusters, Supervisors and more are mostly open minded and know that the changes are all for the better for both employee and employer

    Pros

Good Company to work for. It has some problems just like every other company in the country. Upper management is understanding and reasonable. They do their best to make the company an enjoyable place to work. Good benefits, good pay scale. Any negative reviews would be the people who wrote them. If you give the company your best work, that is what you get in return from them.

    Cons

Some days are challenging, but that comes with dealing with the public. Most frustrating is customers who don't like what you telling them and then complain.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your are doing :-)

    Pros

None. Would give 0 stars if I could. Not enough space for cons to working here.

    Cons

Incredibly hostile work environment. Ancient technology. Skimpy with supplies. Cuts corners. Unethical behaviors within management that get swept under the rug. Poor and clueless upper management.

    Advice to Management

Bullying and harrassment needs to stop! Problems are not eradicated. HR personnel should not be "friends" with managers, nor should they tell managers what employees approach them IN CONFIDENCE with. When an employee addresses a problem, it only creates much bigger issues for the employee.

    I worked at Preferred Warranties

    Pros

I cant seem to remember any since KAR took over

    Cons

Everything. This place is going to hell. Expectations in every department are unrealistic. Employees have to teach management even though regular employees get paid nothing and upper management get 6 figures. No body is ever of the same page. I think the requirement to be a sales rep now is a pulse and a sense of entitlement. Don't work here

    Advice to Management

Start appreciating the employees who have carried this business for years.

    Pros

Sort of good benefits. You can amk 3b your own schdule

    Cons

Company was sold to KAR Holdings and the new management came from AFC. They serve up unrealistic goals and a poor pay plan. Upp e management cannot do the job they ask of their employees. When goals fall short they start the blame game.

    Advice to Management

Be accountable for your own bad performamce and your poor management skills. Stop blaming everyone else. Eventually it will catch up with you.

Good on your own position, you get what you put into it, pay can vary but that is every sales commission position. Company is still growing.

    Cons

Better training and assistance from upper management, more open lines of communication .

I worked at Preferred Warranties full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good benefits. Manage your own schedule.

    Cons

Pay plan changed in January 2015 for the worse! New management took over in October 2014 and all employees have been micromanaged and miserable ever since. Everyone I talk to wants to quit and are looking for new jobs! All the good managers that knew what they were doing are all gone! Sales are dropping like a rock and all the current managers can do is blame everyone but themselves!

    Advice to Management

Hire someone that knows what they are doing and understands the business! Don't blame the untrained sales force that is being misdirected!
