    Pros

    Obviously working for an insurance company there are great medical benefits
    The all hands company meetings are informative
    Company events

    Cons

    Not a lot of team interaction
    Stagnant movement in role
    Team leads five very little attention to employees
    Limited gemba time

    Pros

    Premera is a company that truly cares for it's members, and employees.
    We have great compensation for the work we do.
    Changes are being made in all areas of the company to continue to be an industry leader.

    Cons

    I don't really see any cons working for Premera. The health insurance is pretty good coverage, maybe a bit lacking in our drug formulary. Otherwise pretty good coverage.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work - keep moving forward. Keep listening to the employees and our members and we will continue to be the best in the industry!

    Pros

    There are a lot of nice people there and the commute was good. Sometimes they let you work from home, but the hours were long.

    Cons

    Horrible treatment by bullying executives, one who admitted that it’s a culture of fear. Long hours spent jumping through hoops for no reason.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being awful. You are the worst and I can’t believe how bad you made it for everyone to work there. Stop the unnecessary scare tactics.

    Great benefits, good pay, some of the managers were fantastic

    Cons

    Some of the managers were horrible from micromanaging to sexual harassment...roll the dice

    Pros

    The environment is very collaborative and the culture claims to care deeply about Lean Leadership practices. Where this is actually practiced, good things are happening.

    Cons

    The company fails to train managers of people as well as managing the resulting issues. Good managers are far and few between, which can make the experience terrible. There is also a ruthless and cold attitude from the head of HR that the business matters more than the people.

    Advice to Management

    Your greatest asset is your people. Train and value good managers of people. Good results will be easier to achieve once you fix this issue.

    Pros

    Great campus, nice cafeteria, great co-workers. Very good benefits and opportunity for advancement along the way. The job itself was exciting, always work to be done.

    Cons

    Very male dominated leadership teams. While opportunities to advance exist, there is a glass ceiling. Definitely need to be part of the good old boy network to really achieve your potential.

    Consider the full potential of all employees, regardless of their background. You have missed out on some amazing talent by staying within your box of what good looks like.
