I worked at Premiere Radio Networks full-time

    Pros

For the most part, great people to work with, good environment overall.

    Cons

Benefits, especially insurance, leaves a lot to be desired. You'd expect that a company owned by iHeart Media, they'd provide better benefits. They don't. You pay for insurance, just to say you have insurance.

    Advice to Management

    Improve benefits/

    Pros

    Cons

Management is terrible. They don't care about the employees.

    Advice to Management

Creating a better workplace culture is key to keeping employees happy and motivated.

I worked at Premiere Radio Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Decent holiday schedule (half days off before most major holidays)
    - If you put down iHeart on your resume (technically you work for both) it looks good
    - Occasionally can get tickets to shows (have to enter to win, why give your employees free stuff when you can charge people, right?)

    Cons

    - Mediocre (at best) pay... When the CEO gives himself a nine million dollar bonus but they've put a freeze on raises for 10 years, what does that tell you.
    - Expensive HSA healthcare plan
    - Tough to move around
    - Constant rollover of employees, like a revolving door.
    - Middle management operates on a favoritism scale
    - People get promoted based on how long they've been here, not if they are the best fit. This causes people to become upper management even though they don't know how to BE upper management
    - The tickets to events: if you work at any iHeart/Premiere office in LA you should get to go to their awards show here in LA without an issue.
    - Tough to take vacation time during the holidays
    - All hires are now going through upper management to make sure they are hiring the best person for the cheapest price point.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people better. I know the guys are the top make it rough, but you've got to come to a compromise.

Don't promote people to middle and upper management if they've never been a manager before.

And for the love of God, if people want to go to a freaking iHeart show, just let them. The ticket winning system is flawed.

I worked at Premiere Radio Networks (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I took a position based solely on their health benefits, which are now TERRIBLE. There is nothing good here.

    Cons

Toxic people, constantly changing expectations, undefined rules, loose job descriptions that change with each person in the position, employees are allowed to be rude and overly critical to each other, sexual harassment, verbal harassment and basically being exploited if you have any skills. Working at ArcLight Cinemas was ABOVE AND BEYOND a better experience than working at this place.

    Advice to Management

Reconcile your expectations and reality, then you can start to do something about reality. The reality is: you are trying to reinvigorate the radio advertising industry, but you have employees that are not capable of innovation and resist learning new skills. This is because you have horrible employee retention. If you did more to help those with skills grow and succeed, your company could make more money. If you have loyal employees who haven't had a raise (not even cost of living) in 8 years, they probably are the type of employee with nowhere else to go, and that's not good for your business. Additionally, you keep people in VP and director positions who behave like children in the workplace, refuse to communicate, are easily irritable and lack the basic problem-solving skills to execute their job and tend to take their frustration out on others and pass the buck. Give some of that iHeart CEO/VP money to your mid-management and senior employees who deserve it and see where that structure takes you.

I worked at Premiere Radio Networks (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, broad reaching platform with SOME good programming. Consistent work-hours, good work-life balance in lower-level positions.

    Cons

Toxic top-down corporate culture, hasn't been raises in almost 8 years, very little incentive to exceed job expectations.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of the people who operate your company. Investing in the morale of a corporation is more valuable than the bottom line may suggest.
