I have been working at Presbyterian Healthcare Services full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-Work from home (some positions) -Relative flexibility in scheduling the work you need to do -Management is very, very close to all their employees which is not something you will see anywhere else. They will take time to talk to you and are very approachable. It's a very comfortable atmosphere -Very accommodating with travel - they pay for hotels, rental cars (including upgrades to four wheel drive vehicles in winter/bad...

    Cons

-Sometimes receive direction from several managers other than your own whom you may not even know. Sometimes you will receive conflicting direction which can be frustrating to sort out -Benefits are pretty bad considering it's a medical insurance company. You pay for all your medical bills until you hit the deductible which under my plan is $7k. Then they will start to kick in 80%. That plan for a family is around $130/pay...

I have been working at Presbyterian Healthcare Services full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Working with members and making a difference in their lives!

      Cons

Way to much work for one person to juggle! Care coordination department is a mess, the expectations are unreal and staff is definitely underpaid compared to the other MCO’s. The caseload ratio should really be looked at because it’s extremely difficult to manage staying within compliance based on the number of things one has to try to accomplish within those timelines. Reaching out to upper management really doesn’t make...

      Advice to Management

Listen to your employees when they tell you the workload is too much, people are producing quantity work instead of quality work because you are overworking them! And in the end the member is the one that is being affected

I worked at Presbyterian Healthcare Services full-time for less than a year

      Pros

      Money good, insurance ridiculous expensive

      Cons

      Management unsupportive, demanding, expectations huge

      Advice to Management

Learn how to supervise and be a LEADER not a corporate robot. The training was inadequate and brief, too much time was spent in webinars and live seminars that had nothing to do with convoluted and intricate software system that trainees are expected to learn virtually overnight. The "mentors" were not adequately trained to TEACH trainees how to navigate the software, and there was a condescending attitude of "it just...
