I worked at Presbyterian Healthcare Services full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pay was decent for field paramedic and it's a fast-paced city EMS service so you'll get tons of experience. Great medical director and education staff who really prepare you before letting you out in the field on your own. They currently have a great group of commanders in the field who oversee without micromanaging. Plenty of opportunities for overtime as a paramedic, not so much for EMT's/Advanced EMT's.

    Cons

Little to no downtime, especially if you work night shift. Coming home from every single shift absolutely exhausted got old really quick.

I worked at Presbyterian Healthcare Services full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good place for experience as Albuquerque is the violent place that it is, high paced, solid equipment, medical diection is fairly good, supervisors are quality, opportunity to advance after a while, always opportunity for overtime

    Cons

Higher mangement can be tough to deal with at times, somewhat political as with any organization, paramilitary, sometimes mandatory overtime, weird hours

    Advice to Management

To keep cool, take ownership of issues, be teachable, let go of ego in the name of patient and team care

I have been working at Presbyterian Healthcare Services full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great training, easily the best street medic work in NM. Been there seven years, started as a Basic. The covered my P school in exchange for service.

    Cons

Bad leadership, bad pay, understaffed, HIGH call volume. You will get off late every shift. I will be leaving as soon as my contract is up.

    Advice to Management

Raise the pay standards, and we will actually retain employees
