I have been working at Presbyterian Healthcare Services full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Working with members and making a difference in their lives!

      Cons

Way to much work for one person to juggle! Care coordination department is a mess, the expectations are unreal and staff is definitely underpaid compared to the other MCO’s. The caseload ratio should really be looked at because it’s extremely difficult to manage staying within compliance based on the number of things one has to try to accomplish within those timelines. Advice to Management

Listen to your employees when they tell you the workload is too much, people are producing quantity work instead of quality work because you are overworking them! And in the end the member is the one that is being affected

      Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Presbyterian Healthcare Services full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

Co workers are great, and pay checks are reliable.

      Cons

upper management only cares about the bottom line.

      Advice to Management

Give your hard working employees raises since there's no room for advancement and if you care so much about continuing education help MA's with scholarships not just RN's or MD's.

I have been working at Presbyterian Healthcare Services full-time

      Pros

Good name, benefits, retirement. People come in that are hoping that the big name of Pres means that big things happen. Mostly only big buildings get built...

      Cons

Nothing changes. Management has a HUGE turn over rate and if you have the luck of getting someone good, they get burnt out fast from the stagnant upper management. There is so much money wasted by upper management that has no idea what they are doing or dealing with.

      Advice to Management

Pay attention to what your employees are telling you! PTO is a joke. Take care of your nurses and mid-levels. Not just MD's. Remember, they take care of you too.

I have been working at Presbyterian Healthcare Services full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

PHS works hard at trying to be the best in healthcare for New Mexico. It truly has the community's needs as it's primary focus and concern. Tim and time again it has shown that it's heart is with the needs of the patient.

      Cons

Administratively, it likes to think it engages the hospital's many talented doctors, nurses , pharmacists and support staff....but still seems to make decisions based less on the input of those individuals who in fact are the "service", and makes decisions based on either middle to upper management slant alone or possibly it's heavily placed financial input. The result is frequently...

      Advice to Management

Encourage your middle management to truly involve those of us who are on the front lines of care giving and who reflect the day to day service of your organization.

      Pros

      Cons

Too top heavy with upper management Needs to have better training for mid level management Company vales are not always followed - especially if you are in upper management or a physician

      Advice to Management

Need more employees to do the actual work - not more managers
