I worked at Presbyterian Medical Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have good people working for them, but management is clueless about how to keep them happy, so they have high employee turnover. They lose good people who would be assets to their company and they could care less about it.

    Cons

Lots. Employee morale is very low. I blame that on terrible management. They only care for themselves and the very few "incentives" they think makes employees happy...people could care less about. Management ignores major issues because if it's making them money, that's all they care about.

    Advice to Management

Re-train yourselves to actually "manage" properly. Get out of the "New Mexico" mentality that keeps your company at a basic level. The rest of the world is in the 21st century...you might want to consider joining them.

I have been working at Presbyterian Medical Services full-time

    Pros

Company does a lot of good work in regards to helping the lower income residents within NM.

    Cons

Company is not forward thinking. They refuse to change the way corporate office is run. They go off of "this is the way it has always been" type of mentality. Compensation for most employees is extremely low.

    Advice to Management

Be open to different ways of doing business. You'd be able to keep qualified employees longer if you were more open minded.

    Pros

I can't really think of any pros at the moment.

    Cons

A lot of backstabbing in the company. Retention is terrible!!

    Advice to Management

Learn to communicate - it simply doesn't exist in this company. Re-think your daily activities - are all of your meetings actually needed? Focus on your employees, their needs and how to keep moral up.

I worked at Presbyterian Medical Services full-time

    Pros

Paid time off, vacation, convenient location, positive mission

    Cons

Poor management, lack of vision for department and little insight regarding strategies to effectively complete tasks, for the most part time poorly utilized, cubicle

    Advice to Management

There needs to be more concrete, definitive goals formulated for department- often times, it feels like this department is "shooting from the hip" and try to figure things out as they go along. Also, strategies, clear expectations of what it will look like when goals are met would be beneficial. There needs to be increased communication amongst department members and effective team building- otherwise, it feels like you are on your own island in your cubicle everyday. Management had very limited interaction with employees, and upper management? Totally out of the loop with employees.
