    Pros

Challenging, fast-paced, dynamic. You will be noticed quickly for good work and given better opportunities. Quite flexible work environment. Co-workers are smart and pleasant to work with. Small but global presence.

    Cons

Location, constant struggle to bring more business, some projects are very one dimensional and only CI focused, poor benefit. Projects can be more strategy-focused.

    Advice to Management

Hire the right people. Reward the good ones.

I worked at Prescient Healthcare Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Been here as a Senior Analyst for 12 months. Once you have worked here then you would appreciate any place any job so much more (Seriously PLEASE DON'T WORK IN THIS SOUL SUCKING BLACK HOLE)

    Cons

The higher level management should know about the scams in their US offices.
    1. Professional Development: The company doesn't give a rats behind. The "review" process is a subjective sham; although the HR projects it to be very objective. The main goal of the Line managers is to somehow not promote you, give you a raise once a year that would maybe be buy a years worth of dog food and be completely dismissive on feedback for future growth in the company! This is a way for selfish Line managers to rake in higher raises for themselves by taking credit for everyone else's work.Is the CEO really mentally disengaged not understand why people leave this company in less than 1 year? And trust me this is the case with the top level and bottom level performing associates/ associate consultants
    2. HR and IT Support: Non-existent. But they definitely possess some unique talent to suck so hard that no one else can even try and get to
    3. Vision: Associates and Associate consultants are arguably the most important part of the company. THE MANAGEMENT IS BLIND TO RECOGNIZE THEIR PERFORMANCE. Partially because the Line managers have too much power and their insecurity forces them to treat the associates/ associate consultants as minions and suck out more all the work and claim credit for it

    Advice to Management

    1. Please have a Quality check on the review process. This is really where the biggest improvement can be seen. GO see How many Line Managers have actually put any sort of plan for the people they manage. The management HAS TO MAKE THIS PROCESS MORE TRANSPARENT, because right now its a complete piece of turd
    2. Institute a system of accountability for the Line managers so that the people he is reviewing can also give a feedback of the review process. DON'T LET THE LINE MANAGERS HAVE SO MUCH POWER. They are literally stepping over the people they manage. The current company systems doesn't allow people like us to let the higher management know about this BS that is going on
    3. Increase focus on personal development and institute some formal training if you really want this company to survive

Good opportunity for career and personal growth.

    Cons

Overall pay/benefits package might be slightly below industry average.

I worked at Prescient Healthcare Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Entry level graduates (Bachelor's, Master's or PhD) can get good exposure to pharma industry in a fast-paced environment. A year or 2 here will make your resume a lot more attractive and increase your value significantly. Especially for PhD's pr post-docs trying to get out of academia.

    Cons

A lot of internal politics, and you need to make sure you're appreciated by the right people to get ahead.

    Pros

Very dynamic, interesting work. You are quickly exposed to, and learn a lot about the pharmaceutical industry. You get to travel (sometimes internationally) to conferences, client sites etc, and often get to stay in nice hotels and enjoy nice meals for these trips (all expenses paid). It's definitely a great way to get into the Biotech/Pharma industry, especially for those who have no experience (fresh out of undergrad, or grad school). Benefits are excellent, PTO is better than most US companies as this company is HQd in the UK; summer fridays are flexible (they let employees leave early provided important work is done).

    Cons

Previous reviewer was right about the challenges of primary research. It's not for everyone. Oftentimes, the workload can be a lot to bear. Also career advancement often depends on having the "right mentor" and it's very important to forge the right relationships with senior management or you may get left behind. However, if you do the work, and have the right support you will be rewarded, you just have to work hard at making your efforts visible/seen by the right people.

    Advice to Management

Transparency is key, communication is often lacking. Management need to work hard on these.

I worked at Prescient Healthcare Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Colleagues were decent people.
One of the directors that has been there forever is a good person but has no say or power to make any changes.
Learned a lot about the Life Sciences industry very quickly.

    Cons

Awful leadership in US (seems like those people are no longer with the company) - manager gave reviews that were great and then would tell director that performance is not great.
Deceitful in branding - they are a CI company wrapping themselves up as a strategy consulting company.
Deceitful practices are encouraged to get the job done.
Leadership in UK is arrogant and has no regard for employees besides their buddies that are PM or above.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the high turnover - it happens for a reason. Talent should be retained but doesn't stay due to the business model.
Either be a CI company and own it or don't. Stop lying to incoming employees and fooling yourselves into thinking you are strategy consulting. Strategy consultants pay honoraria to to the experts they speak with to provide strategic consulting to clients on non-confidential information. CI companies do not and they misrepresent themselves to get the information they need, even if it is confidential and proprietary.

I have been working at Prescient Healthcare Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exposure to the healthcare and pharma industry, building your network in the pharma industry, good stepping stone to other jobs in consultancy.

    Cons

Lying to people on the phone to get competitive intelligence, passive bullying at work, very low pay for the junior members, disorganized strategy, "unprofessional" relationships between senior members, hypocritical leaders, lack of a training program, senior members taking credit for your work and then giving themselves huge salaries, bonuses and a promotions, a few token junior members rapidly accelerated to Project Manager because of their "special" relationships with members of senior management, people without medical research backgrounds being transferred from other divisions and replacing other more qualified and experienced people...the list goes on.....

    Pros

Vast exposure to pharmaceutical practices and strategies and you might get to travel to international conferences but that is about it.

    Cons

In a nutshell "Don't even consider the place unless you are willing to go against everything that is moral, ethical and fair". Though management preaches to be ethical their expectations are that you get the job done by hook or crook. Only people who succeed in the organization are who adapt to their style quickly and become one of them. Most managers are incompetent and cover their incompetence by bullying you. You won't be learning any skills, because there are none to be developed except how to deceive other people. The list can go on and on but this is about good summary about this place.

    Advice to Management
