    Pros

The pay was decent and most of the co-workers were nice

    Cons

At the time I was there they had removed sales assistants and the sales people were responsible for processing and selling. Work load was very heavy. Long hours. I heard it may be better now as they have changed the structure and are under new ownership.

    Pros

Excellent benefits including substantial paid time off. The compensation appears to be much higher than that of other companies in the surrounding areas and I always feel valued as an employee.

    Cons

There are many benefits of being owned by such a large company (NYT), however, at times this can have a negative impact on the speed of change as there are multiple steps in the approval process.

Clean house, create a new environment by replacing most of the old guard. stay the course with digital and reward those whom have educated knowledge of what should be sold when.

    Pros

I enjoyed my time at The Press Democrat. Although it didn't last as long as I wish it had, the editors, reporters and photographers at the newspaper make it a great place to collaborate and consistently proves to its readers that its one of the best publications in Northern California.

    Cons

As with a newspaper, benefits weren't always the best, but they were nice to have. The 401k match was paltry compared to other companies in today's world.
