    Co workers, the original mission of the company, the healthcare industry,

    Cons

    management is extremely arrogant with no results that would justify arrogance, A exemplary culture focused on accountability, mutual respect, customer focused, and employee driven has been destroyed. It seems the current ceo and many of his henchmen/women came from a company where they did not survive the cut

    Pros

    Fellow colleagues are very supportive. Flexible work schedule.

    Cons

    Upper management asks for constant feedback about work conditions and never seem to do anything about it. It's like talking to a wall.

    Advice to Management

    Please stop putting the cart before the horse. Have a set timeline for employees with respect to internal improvements. After years of hearing "we're working on it," people become disheartened.

    Pros

    Insurance benefits were really good at the time. Well as long as it wasn't for a family, but for a single person, however the opportunity for different types of benefits was good.

    Cons

    No job security, constant scrutiny, they are money oriented for the higher ups in the company, not employee oriented, constant pressure, crazy expectations, knowledge of being fired at any moment for no reason.

    Advice to Management

    Go back to how the company was run when Dr. Hall was there, it has gone down since him leaving.

    Pros

    There are still some good people people there who understand the business and produce most of the value.

    Cons

    New management has come in and destroyed what was a great company. When they got there in 2012, they assumed everything was broken and needed to be fixed. There were a couple key areas that needed some attention, but the majority of the company and people were in good shape. What ended up happening is that they were forced to make layoffs because of their poor decisions and since then there has been a mass exodus of the remaining employees (across several departments). Management really doesn't care and treats everyone as if they are replaceable. That attitude towards the employees continues to drive more people away. The management team is a bunch of buddies that move from company to company and are more concerned with protecting each other than actually adding any value to the companies they manage. The current management team is terrible, but the root cause is 3 consecutive poor CEO choices in 5 years since Vestar bought the company.

    Advice to Management

    Management has no idea how good the company was before they destroyed it because because they cannot fathom it functioning without them. In reality they are the ones responsible for most of the problems the company is now experiencing. Pick up your buddies and leave before things are beyond repair.

    Pros

    At the rate people are leaving, they are likely to get desparate to hire replacements. There could be a good opportunity for someone who is looking at the end of 2013. There is still some level of accomodation of work/home balance but I am not sure that it will last. There is still the possibility that if the current senior management is replaced that Press Ganey could be a great company again. There are people who are being kept from doing that today.

    Cons

    The company is very short term focussed. This makes them do things that can have good immediate financial results but are likely to have fatal consequences in the future. The technical debt is enourmous and growing. Individuals do not matter in the company. It is clear that the management perception is that everyone is interchangable and easily replaced. The power structure is very buddy oriented, what was once called the old boys club (but with no gender discrimination at Press Ganey). Being the buddy of the next level up is far more important than competence. It appears that the company is in serious financial straights that has been well hidden from the financial analysts and investors. In the last two years, there has been one bonus paid (The CEO said that based on the financials it should not have been paid) and basically no raises even for exceptional performance according to the CEO.

    Advice to Management

    It is time to stop putting bandaids on fatal wounds. A vision for what the company wants to be is needed and needs to be sufficiently concrete that it can be realized. The greatest weakness of the senior management team is that there is little to no competence in the area of leadship. When the new senior management team came in, there was a grand vision which failed because the senior management did not know how to make the vision feel real and achievable. When it came down to actually planning a transition from the current state to the future state, the senior management could not develop the plans to make it achievable. Instead they assumed that they could start from absolute scratch and by some miracle, the company would arrive at that vision.

    You need to bring some people with real leadership skills into the company to compensate for the lack of these skills at the senior management level. Promoting people who are bullies and who pontificate with obviously no knowledge about their topic will not hlep build confidence in the "leadeship" of the management.

    As you might have guessed from the title bunch of monkeys try to run the show. You will find no trust, no leadership, no commitments but you will find lot of headache for free. Sincere advice is don't trust these idiots.

    Keep on dancing Monkeys. No body is going to trust you.

    Pros

    There are still some good people with a moral compass and try to do the right thing.

    Cons

    This CEO has brought in friends and family and has done literally nothing in the past year to deliver on the changes he spoke of. He has crushed the culture and created a terrible place to work where people are constantly looking over their shoulder in fear of losing their job.

    Advice to Management

    Leave.

    Pros

    Benefits are decent - but this is expressly a deceptive technique.

    Cons

    There is a lot of initial noise about how great the company culture is and how much they care and take care of their employees. Managers spend a lot of time convincing you there is an open door policy and that they will advocate for you. A lot of promises of upward mobility. This is NOT TRUE. They will throw you under the bus the second they perceive it could possibly be beneficial to them. Managers are two-faced and vindictive, do not offer resources or help when merited. "Upward mobility" is a joke. They do not seriously consider internal applicants. Management is often unqualified and perform poorly; they are not held accountable for errors and complaints are not taken seriously and rarely, if ever, followed through on and often result in punitive actions.

    Lower level employees are treated as expendable and an embarrassment - they are relegated to a separate building and apparently new-hires are mandated to telecommute, which the company treats as a "great privilege" when in reality, they don't want to expand office space or expend the resources to accommodate, which is hypocritical since their whole business model is veiled in this "advocate for the little guy" rhetoric.

    If you are thinking about working here, consider your motivations, and focus your efforts somewhere else.

    Pros

    In a difficult job market, any job can be a good thing. There is an attempt to be competitive on pay and benefits. Experience here can help you move on to your next position while PG still has a good reputation in the industry.

    Cons

    Bloated and ineffective senior management and too few people to do work. We have more "C" level execs than I have ever seen in a company this size. If you have not worked with the current CEO at his prior positions, you are not going to be taken seriously no matter your experience or abilities. New initiatives are poorly planned and executed, and we expend huge efforts trying to make these initiatives work after initial failures. If you are reading positive reviews of this company, you are reading scripted responses from CEO's new team who seem concerned about perception than reality.

    Advice to Management

    Stop bringing high paid friends and cronies on board while telling departments with severe staff shortages to "make do". Whether or not you hear comments about this - employees see and recognize this is happening.

    A poorly executed good idea doesn't differ much from a bad idea in practice. Execution of plans is as important as anything else - stop developing and trying to implement new initiatives until you can figure out how to execute better.

    Pros

    There is a nice level of flexibility in the job and the base pay isn't bad.

    Cons

    During my tenure with Press Ganey, there have been 4 CEOs. Each one brings in their own team and tries to "fix" what's wrong with the company. They add products and services without truly integrating them so that we have a myriad different platforms and teams that don't interact.

    Press Ganey's pricing models are so varied and complicated that it is difficult to tell a prospect what a service costs. That, coupled with PG being the high priced solutions, causes us to lose several deals.

    As a sales person, they have instituted a new comp plan in 2013 (which we have yet to receive in writing) that is convoluted, difficult to calculate, and penalizes the sales person for any decrease in a current client's revenue. So if a client discontinues a service because it isn't working - that money cancels out any new sales that were mad. It's possibly the worst SCIP that I have ever had in my 10+ years in sales.

    Advice to Management

    Streamline your offerings, make pricing more competitive and simple, and don't push a product out to market without testing it's readiness.
