Once was a great place to work

    Pros

New dealer building is very nice, and co-workers are friendly. Management are willing to send employees for training when necessary, but probably only because they are required to.

    Cons

High turnover rate among employees (burning people out). The upper management does not have their employees best interest in mind, they seem to manage using fear probably due to their own managers using the same technique. Numerous management changeovers necessitate the promotion of very inexperienced people into management level positions. Ethically lacking.

Why has no one unveiled what lies behind the curtain before?

    Pros

Honestly, the only pro I can truthfully have is the people I worked with made me not hate coming to work everyday. Free lunch on Saturdays... but once you realize its because you cant take a lunch and they do that to keep you inside you think twice about that "pro". Company used to be a great one 5 years ago with the old president.. hasn't been since.

    Cons

Managers/upper management really just views you as cattle.. turn over rates are usually higher in automotive, but this company truly keeps it under wraps with all of their unhappy employees. Management loves to micromanage, they clearly feel they are incompetent for the job they were hired to do. Its difficult to get any kind of higher base salary or negotiate a higher commission even when working for as many years as I have. Especially now with the group adding more stores, they cut out the holiday bonus that was given to us, and took away our holiday party this year claiming to "donate" it to the local hospital, which is such bogus bc the company is going to pay less in a donation that what they would on celebration for the company. That was the one decent thing about this place. They give you vacation time, but forget about asking to take off, you feel like you can't even take what you're entitled too. Couple years ago they fired a nice lady that worked in the management office because she took off for a vacation during a company "black out" period where business is "too busy" for anyone in the company to take off. Not sure what retail had to do with the management office, but it was a really disappointing move to see how the president treats people.. I could go on and on, but I was able to escape to a competitor, where many of us have gone.
