I worked at Price Chopper Supermarkets (NY) part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours with school/internships, interesting/challenging work (if you like to push yourself), good management, helpful/kind co-workers, lots of positive customer interaction with the community.

I worked part-time while attending school and undertaking various internships. I enjoyed working with most of my co-workers and it was great to be able to interact with the community/shoppers and help customers out on the floor.

Note: my last year was 2013 but that isn't listed as a dropdown option.

    Cons

Stressful at times, occasional upset customers, felt that some out-of-school co-workers deserved more full-time opportunities/growth opportunities

    Advice to Management

Continue to support your co-workers and give them challenging/meaningful work to help them grow. Training and retaining good teammates really helps.

I have been working at Price Chopper Supermarkets (NY) part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours and some of the co-workers are cool.

    Cons

Your hours are very inconstant, one week you might get a decent amount(30 if you are lucky), the next you might get 15-20.

The favoritism is terrible, the bosses only ever compliment or give hours to the people they like, the rest of the people get crap for hours and get puked on by the company.

You are in constant anxiety because the CEO sends basically spies to your store randomly to make sure you are doing what you are supposed to be doing.

    Advice to Management

You just need to run the company better as a whole. Maybe start treating your employees as human. I think you'll find that your customers will get treated better if your employees are happy. Stop using your secret shoppers to force people into following every single rule and doing it the way EXACTLY how you want it done.

Get better store managers, ones that actually manage instead of talking down to you like you are some sort of trash when you ask a question. Get ones that instead of playing on Facebook all day, actually do something. It would help also if they didn't care just when higher ups are coming. When they wait until the last second like that, it results in impossible expectations.

I have been working at Price Chopper Supermarkets (NY) part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

We have a lot of friendly co workers, & bosses. Store looks nicer & more space in the aisle.

    Cons

No discounts on food. A little confusing for certain items because it might be in more then one spot. Also it needs better communication.

    Advice to Management

A little more communication with employees helps them better & etc. for the stores.
