    Pros

I really liked the work environment, always working with different teams and being exposed to the different aspects in the IT department.
The people here are very nice and very friendly. It is not a large company but people from the higher ups are friendly and always willing to help out. The Dev team is pretty cohesive. Good vibe and work life balance. The downtown location is great!

    Cons

If you don't enjoy the Financial Industry you should look elsewhere.

    I worked at PriceMetrix full-time

    Pros

Salary was competitive. Company was flexible in allowing me to work on self initiated projects and did not micromanage. A smart group of coworkers.

    Cons

Not a lot of potential for advancement - a lot of turnover as a result. The company's core product has a limited lifetime (in my opinion).

I have been working at PriceMetrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Location is pretty central, offices are ok with lots of light, good benefits and competitive salaries. They invest in employees in the form of a personal development program. Founders are awesome and are fully invested in the company's success. They get lots of good press coverage and awareness of the brand is only growing. Lots of great data and insights drawn from the data the company collects. Clients are more or less happy, and the platform/ technology is getting better.

    Cons

Founders have vision and understand the market, but seem to be distracted by people with bad ideas but a great ability to convince others. Sales VPs come and go and lack the ability to execute well. Almost everything is tactical and sales pipeline oriented, versus focusing on long-term strategy, planning and growing mindshare. There is also a great reluctance to try new things and be different. Some people have been around forever and have not grown or kept up with the market. Many of the Directors are simply people-managers and haven't been empowered to have real control or vision for their areas of responsibilities. VPs seem to rule the roost and make plans behind closed doors and provide little transparency.

    Advice to Management

    1) Enter new segments of the market to grow 2) Empower employees s and get out of their way 3) Invest in mobile technology 4) Really listen to current clients

    Pros

You will find that there is decent salary and bonuses with a good understanding of what people want for benefits. The office location sits well in the hub of the city which makes it easy to travel to.

    Cons

However the cons outweight the pros: lacks company culture, upper management is functional and not business oriented, needs less micromanagement and more macro, difficult to make changes to current adhoc environment, lacks process thereby making daily activities unmanageable. Lacking true agile development practices.

    Advice to Management

Better big picture goals, promote hands-off management styles from top of chain

    Cons

Terrible HR department. Doesn't know how to hire anyone and violates HR policies and common courtesy regularly.

    Advice to Management

    Hire new HR people

    Pros

Salary is good, benefits are good. Pretty good bonus as well. Initial training on the job is 3 weeks. Nice office, lots of light.

    Cons

Some really incompetent people in management. They lack any kind of technical knowledge, yet insist on micro-managing everything. They create a lot of meetings, which prevents everyone else from getting any real work done.

    Advice to Management

Advice to management is to (a) get rid of incompetent managers (b) avoid 'hit & run' style management
