I have been working at Primary Care Development (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great coworkers, cutting edge projects to change the way healthcare is delivered, unique mission driven company, great learning environment - the work develops your skills in many areas

    Cons

Flat management structure, few resources for business development, it can be a challenge to find well paying projects as our clients often are under resourced

I have been working at Primary Care Development full-time

    Pros

the company provides very good benefits but the HR department support is non-existant. You need to wait a week to talk to HR because there is only one employee working HR and only one day per week. the HR Director advises the organization in salaries and duties even though the director is never there to see how the organization functions. complete disconnect!

    Cons

co-workers are professional and nice most of the time. Management and high directors are horrible people to work for, they create a very hostile environment and prevent the organization from achieving its goals.

    Advice to Management

you are a non profit helping the under-served....how about the "under paid" in your organization?

    Pros

There is flexibility and most importantly growth opportunity within organization as long as you can bring meaningful contribution to the team.

    Cons

Although there is support from four direct supervisor, there is room for improvement from all of senior management when it comes to certain line of business.

    Advice to Management

Get involve in all line of business and not the select few within the sector.

    Pros

Small staff, transparent leadership, highly motivated staff, competent leadership

    Cons

Slightly pessimistic work environment, slowly improving. Not as much room for upward mobility, staff too over-allocated to be able to take advantage of development opportunities

    Advice to Management

Bring in OD consultants to work with staff across organization on skill development, team dynamics, innovation, positive work environment. Create more protected time/retreats for all staff to participate in creating shared values and shared goals. Better methods for protected time for knowledge sharing.

I worked at Primary Care Development full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, nice office, smart and good people.

    Cons

Staff too over-allocated here. Staff is really stressed and due to this, I guess, there is high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Nothing... Let them keep on doing the same outdated approach on things...

I worked at Primary Care Development full-time

    Pros

The people are great, schedule is flexible but workload is consistently overwhelming. Great benefits and for the most part your boss will have your back. Expectations are high, people are incredibly smart.

    Cons

Senior management creates a lot of barriers for implementing big ideas. Some very influential senior staff have a fairly low EQ. Biggest complaint is that it is slow moving and has passed on a lot of opportunities to be responsive, creative, and leaders in the field. Risk averse.

    Advice to Management

Take some risk, better motivate staff, and make them feel engaged in strategic opportunities.
