I have been working at PrimeSource Building Products full-time

    Pros

Good healthcare coverage and benefits package.

    Cons

Poor, inept management. Too much restructuring lately and not in the right areas, but that's what happens when you have a private equity firm as your owner.

I have been working at PrimeSource Building Products full-time

    Pros

Generally speaking, a hard working group of individuals.

    Cons

Owned by a private equity firm. Some decisions are made simply on dollars and cents. Little consideration as to impact on operations when this is done.

I have been working at PrimeSource Building Products full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great products and customer base. Brand recognition.

    Cons

Cutting pay with 3rd Commission plan in 6 months. Extremely reactionary leadership, never forward thinking, just looking for good numbers to report to Private Equity owners. Get those numbers any way they can, cut jobs, cut pay, cut costs, no incentive to perform or sell "B" items.

I worked at PrimeSource Building Products full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

PrimeSource is a great sales organization with a strong distribution footprint and customer base.

    Cons

This company seriously struggles with other aspects of bringing value to customers and employees. They are run by a private equity firm that has implemented sales budgets that are unrealistic while also not investing in products or services to bring value to the customers. Technology, marketing, product development, and talent pipelines are all foreign to how PrimeSource operates. Private equity ownership and current leadership has lead to a very unstable environment with multiple rounds of layoffs. Frustration and fear abounds while a few carry the workload for the many and customers are neglected. Many departments are understaffed and poorly resourced.

I have been working at PrimeSource Building Products

    Pros

Nails, Screws, Roofing, Adhesives & Insulation

    Cons

Building Material sales are slowing, was just bought out by a private equity firm. Management has taken a major restructuring and you are just a number now. People are leaving, and were waiting on our pay to be restructured again. Time to start looking elsewhere.
