Learned a lot, enjoyed working for Primus / PCC
Oct 7, 2020 - Manufacturing Engineer in Algona, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Opportunities for professional growth. Treated fairly and well. Good coworkers. Manager did not micromanage. Above average benefits. Accommodated my health issues.
Cons
Primus is now part of PCC and there were times that corporate felt disconnected and tended to apply one-size-fits-all policies.

Pros
Benefits are good, especially the medical.
Cons
Poor management and lots of management turnover.

Pros
there is always something to do. quarterly bonus' along with annual bonus the shop people were really nice
Cons
daily meetings where the same questions are asked. you're expected to hound vendors for free expedites. Management doesnt stay in their own lane. there are multiple managers and some managers want to manage multiple positions even when they have no clue about the position. I had too many weird incidents with people on the floor harassing me while working. the company addressed it each time, but the amount of times it happened still gives me the creeps and made me feel unsafe to work there

Pros
Good schedule, good benefit, okay pay
Cons
Job security. Aerospace industry companies rely on only one company which is Boeing. If Boeing does good that's fine. If it doesn't, laying off will happen no matter how long you have work in the company. That is a huge risk for the company and all the workers work in Primus.

Pros
A large workshop with a diverse range of machines Fair benefits package
Cons
High turnover of upper management Short-sighted, reactionary policy changes Poor maintenance of equipment Conflicting ideologies (they say quality before speed, but constantly expect unrealistic quotas) Lack of support departments on night shift (Quality/Maintenance/Tooling) Disorganized/incomplete set-up procedures (much "tribal knowledge")

Aerospace manufacturing giant
Aug 7, 2020 - CNC Machinist in Algona, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good co-workers, good leads, jobs are interesting to manufacture. The company does its part to take care of their employees.
Cons
Management cycles through every six months through their Management Development program. So some do not have direct experience with what they are in charge of. They learn, but it may be slow going at the start for some.

Clean shop, new machines, & sometimes you actually get your bonus check on time if your lucky...
Cons
People who bought it out don't know anything about machine operations

Assembly Mechanic
Jun 23, 2016 - Assembly Mechanic in Bothell, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The biggest Pro, the current management allows some flexibility to the schedule. For family's this is great, I can shift my schedule if needed to pick up/drop off my kids. To me, this is worth is weight in gold.
Cons
There is little communication from management. You rarely know what plans/goals for the day/week/month are. You can spent time getting set up for a job, then get pulled, because there was no plan. Continuous improvement items take incredibly long to get started, and rarely get completed ( probably from lack of planning )

Take you talents elsewhere!
May 31, 2015 - Manager in Algona, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Hourly labor force are good people.
Cons
Management drives employees 20% overtime at 7days per week to achieve their daily $$$ targets. The overriding message to all employees is that making the $$$ goal is paramount to everything. Including 'cherry-picking' high dollar sales for shipment instead of meeting all customer deliveries. Ships parts in the system that sit for days but realizing revenue that first day. Intimidates employees by threatening them with termination if they fail to get things done.

Ever since we were bought out by PCC and are now a publically traded company, employee morale has gone down quite a bit.
Mar 6, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Woodinville, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It's all aerospace. There's always going to be a job in aerospace because people fly for work and fun and also for the miltary actions all over the world.
Cons
You have to be devoted to the company and you can't cry over the little things but hold your head up high and shoulders back.
