I worked at Prince Georges County Public Schools (MD) full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Monica Goldson is an EXCELLENT CEO. Far more integrity, morality, focus, and leadership ability than Kevin Maxwell ever showed PGCPS. When Coronavirus became an issue, Monica Goldson acted lightning quick and put together an effective distance learning plan in a very, very short amount of time and under tremendous stress. She has shown more strength in her short time as CEO than Kevin Maxwell showed in his entire career. No doubt she will overhaul PGCPS. - $10 medical copay.

    Cons

    - 80% of administrators and half of HR are hired directly from the bottom of the narcissism/sociopath barrel. - Starting salary is $10k lower than starting salaries in surrounding school districts. - There is virtually no support for new teachers, though this is more due to lack of funding and resources. - Why do all the new teachers keep leaving? I didn't see this when I taught in a neighboring district.
