I have been working at Princess Cruise Lines full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Getting to explore the world whilst being employed and meeting different people from all over the world who share the same interest in travelling.

    Cons

Salaries should be higher as the cruise lines are profiting extremely well.

    Advice to Management

Please look after your staff slightly more re: salary as you do take care of them by providing free travel and many fringe benefits.

I have been working at Princess Cruise Lines (More than a year)

    Pros

    Amazing work/life balance
    Strong management guidance
    Excellent training and coaching
    Travel benefits
    Health benefits
    Multiple Opportunities
    Career Growth

    Cons

Pay for some onboard jobs is low
VERY SLOW and expensive internet for crew
Uniforms pieces are not always available on board for all sizes - shocker for first contract crew

    Advice to Management

Keep up the work you are doing towards encouraging and enabling crew to help make Princess even better. Perhaps allow on board management to help HO adjust some of the KPIs to accurately reflect job roles each contract so that assessments are a better indicator of an employees work. I'm not sure if this was only in the ent dept but many KPIs didn't actually apply to my role which affected my assessment direction.

I worked at Princess Cruise Lines as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

The job is relatively easy, you just need to be switched on, organised and have a quick wit. Your primary job is to entertain the guests. This will vary from running sports activities & arts & crafts to trivia and gameshows or hosting karaoke. The hours are very sporadic, though compared to other employees say in f&b or accommodation, our hours are a piece of cake. If you're taking the job for an easy ride and free holiday, you're entering with the wrong attitude straight up. We get a lot of time off in port and receive officer privileges.

    Cons

Sometimes guests can be very challenging.
