Financial Consultant / Patient Advocate
Sep 21, 2016 - Patient Advocate/Financial Consultant in Plainsboro, NJRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Didn't have administration breathing down my neck. I was allowed pretty much carte blanche in my position but I also didn't abuse the privilege. I worked with a good staff and enjoyed the amount of freedom I had in my advocacy role there. Met a lot of wonderful people since the practice was so big. And I worked with some of the most wonderful oncologists - very humble and down to earth folks.
Cons
Can be difficult to advance for most of the folks there. Some management could have been difficult to deal with as they were not really open minded enough to change things up. Wasn't much incentive to do better as they frowned upon change. But, in their defense, people abused the freedom they had being in such a large practice. So there was a lot of personal computer usage, cell phone use.. etc..

Very low Morale; Undervalued; Raises are a joke
May 29, 2020 - Registered Nurse in Princeton, NJRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Vendor provided lunches ; Mon - Friday schedule
Cons
Gossiping by Doctors & staff; low raises. Low morale; favoritism ; low pay for a nurse. As a nurse you are expected to be the jack of all trades functioning as a medical assistant, nurse, secretary, personal assistant to the doctors etc with low pay and if you ask for a raise they will only give you a small raise and 1000x more responsibilities which still leaves you underpaid. You work as hard as you can and are never thanked or appreciated, instead they give you more to do because they see that you are capable. The doctors all gossip about eachother and talk badly about staff instead of talking to their staff to correct any issues. Very disorganized, stressful and toxic work environment. Since the practice is privately owned by Doctors they call the shots and theres nothing you can do to fix issues. JACHO doesn't inspect the office because they are private, they do not have the proper equipment in the proper rooms.Training is horrible. Please work here at your own risk. Not worth the headache
