    Pros

Ethical company; competent management decisions; commitment to work-life balance; competitive salaries. Principal Trust is part of The Principal Financial Group, a large financial services firm, but we are a small office in Wilmington. We enjoy the benefits of a large company as well as the benefits of being a small company - a family atmosphere.

    Cons

Because we are a small office, there is little opportunity for significant advancement. Jobs tend to become routine, and while some people like that, it's not for everyone.

    Advice to Management

Continue to seek input and feedback from employees - you're doing a good job, so don't let that aspect slip.

    Cons

Possibly the worst sr. management team I have ever worked under!

    Pros

Good benefit plan and no city taxes - these are the only reasons I can think of working there.

    Cons

The management has no clue how to manage employees. There are zero job advancement opportunities and MANY layoffs. Watch your back if you work here - management works hard to make you think that you are being kept in the loop when really they are just looking for a chance to set you up for failure. There are a lot of lifers here and NO young people. Upper management have no clue (or MBAs for that matter). Most attended community college and outlived their peers for their way to the top. Terrible processes, too legalistic, the people are bitter. Only accept a job there if it is the last thing between you and sleeping on the street!

    Advice to Management

Stop micro managing and take some training courses

    Pros

Small office allows team development and interaction. Length of time employed allows more knowledge of content necessary to assist clients.

    Cons

Personality plays too big a part. Should be more skills based. Lack of trust in those who question the company policies.
