    Pros

Nice eye candy working the presses

    Cons

The building is located in the "butt crack" of Louisville, KY.

    Advice to Management

Close this location down, the sooner the better.

I worked at Print Fulfillment Services (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is ok for the area. And that is it.

    Cons

No benefits, extreme at-will employment, unsafe work environment, no background checks, no drug testing, lack of team work, no adherence to OSHA or other safety protocols, disgruntle employees, lay off are extreme, owner doesn't invest in his own company or safety protocols, lack of training, work logs, maintenance manuals, and lack of workforce leadership.

    Advice to Management

Not sure if management even cares or pays attention to any advice given. The company is only as strong as its people. I see this company going down a bad spiral and has the potential to grow, but will not since it is privately owned and has little to no concern in making more profits. If I was the owner or the manager, anything that had to do with the safety and well being of my employees would be handled promptly. The company has the potential to be better than what it is currently. It could be more innovative and enjoyable to work if the environment presents its self. I was hoping to get a chance to build the company up and see an increase of 120% or more, but I can clearly now understand that the owner and management cares little for real profits and more about power.

    Pros

There were no benefits to this position once I accepted the job.

    Cons

Agreed upon metrics were not followed through on, the employees on the floor were under paid and shown little or no respect, this and other problems with ownership led me to find another management position with a different company.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Print Fulfillment Services full-time

    Pros

    * No Weekends to work, very seldom is a Saturday needed.
    * Free Coffee
    * Free Oatmeal
    * Reasonably priced concessions for employees while working.

    Cons

    * Employment is through temporary agencies. Managers included.
    * Stressful work environment brought on by upper management.
    * Managers required to work 12 hour shifts by owner in many instances.
    * Bad part of town.
    * Compensation could be considered questionable due to "bonus plans".
    * No matter how hard you try it seems that there is always something wrong with what you do, there are no pats on the back only extreme micro management from the top.
    * Your past job experience will get you in but after that it means little.
    * Finally, if you have been in the printing industry for some time you will be shocked at what you will enter into. No industry norms here.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people who work for you and work together to do great things. Continue to do the extreme micro management style that is in place and it can only lead to disaster.

I worked at Print Fulfillment Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good, new printers. Several HP Indigos and Ricoh C901s Graphic Arts+.

    Cons

No communication channels between staff and management. I adopted another departments' manager as a resource, because I never saw or spoke to my own. Through emails from my supervisor sent to me when I had made a mistake or an error. Those emails were copied to all upper management. I never once got an "atta boy", or any other positive remark.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your front line folks when making decisions about procedure, quality issues, timelines for rollouts, etc. Implement redundant, and continuous training and education.

I worked at Print Fulfillment Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free work shirts, cheap beverages, no weekends, and some of the people are knowledgeable

    Cons

Run by a megalomaniac, ownership has no clue about printing, borderline psychopaths. Employees are all run through a temp service. You will be let go quickly. Not sure how they escape DOL fines.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Print Fulfillment Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to see some of the latest cutting edge technology in the world of "waterless" offset, as well as the introduction of digital printing!
Paid holidays for full-time PFS employees
Insurance - health, vision, dental, life
Not required to work weekends (maybe 1-2 times a year it's asked who is available to work)
Opportunity for growth, from temp to hire or promotion within the company.
    No mandatory overtime

    Cons

Area may seem frightening to workers/vendors
The facility could use some updating
Because temperatures need to be regulated to printing standards, it was sometimes very cold, but company does provide T-shirts, short and long, to employees

    Advice to Management

The company has been operating in Louisville for almost 10 years. I would advise management to keep open the lines of communication with everyone (employees and management) about how to continue to produce better product and reward those who work hard for the company.
