I worked at Priority One Medical Transport full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Weekend 24 shifts with amazing coworkers

    Cons

Everything else. Terrible management. Scare tactics. Insufferable language from management to push you to extremes. Surprised they haven't had more former employees sue them for unpaid breaks. I did get my retro check from the last one.

    Advice to Management

Close up shop and find another job

I worked at Priority One Medical Transport full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, good benefits, and salary is within market value. Their equipment is up to date.

    Cons

Some of the higher ups have a tendency to literally scream at workers. I think the frustrations come from top down management. Micromanagement is contagious in this company.

    Advice to Management

Trust your field employees or let them go. Screaming at them is nonproductive, no matter what the results, as it creates a hostile working environment for all and demeans worker productivity and moral.

    Pros

Easy job for first time EMTs. Equipment is in decent condition and ambulances were nice. Great coworkers, low stress.

    Cons

Managment was a joke. The supervisors only cared about keeping their job and would tell you one thing only to punish you for it the next minute.

    Advice to Management

Care more about the employees and take the advise given by your men and women in the field, sometimes we know best.

    Ability to work with schedule

    Cons

Father-Daughter management, unfair work practices. High stress environment.

    Advice to Management

Please work on the way you treat employees. Pay should be relative to the hard work that each employees put in. Thanks!

I worked at Priority One Medical Transport full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Enjoyed working with the people in the billing department. Can't say I respected management, or supervisiors in other departments.

    Cons

Supervisiors and managers did not know nor did they have the correct information to run the billing department correctly. Puts to much pressure on employee, to bring in the money, right or wrong,

    Advice to Management

Take a few billing classes, so that you know what is going on.

I worked at Priority One Medical Transport part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some emt experience, easy interview and test. Coworkers are all nice people other than the supervisors.

    Cons

They will fire you for anything, the company seems like it is going under, checks bounce sometimes, supervisors are unstable, company tries to make you do things that are against county protocols, company tries to keep all employees in probationary period so they can fire you without reason, their schedule is only done by thursday for the next week, they don't follow your availability, they don't train new employees on everything, they partner people who are only there for a month with people just hired out of their 2 days training.

    Advice to Management

Take a business class, it isn't profitable to only have new employees and try to force out the full timers. Get new supervisors who actually know what they are doing.

    Pros

there was always lots of overtime available, and the coworkers were always great

    Cons

not much care taken in recognizing employees for hard work, will fire you while you are on the injured list(workers comp), pay minimal hrs on a 24 hr shift, field supervisors hand out write ups for next to nothing, and use scare tactics to keep employees in line instead of coaching and encouragement, not much room for advancement., and they will run a One driver CCT rig the full 24 hr shift without relief or down time- that means driving for 24 hrs straight= dangerous

    Advice to Management

dont be all about the money, but remember the little guys that are out there working on bringing it in for you

    Pros

They used to work around school schedules-now they don't. They do have benefits and good pay. The people who work there are cool. that's it. Everything else is bad.

    Cons

They treat employees terribly. Terribly. Worst job I've ever had.

  10. "Horrible, management fails to acknowledge the merits of employees"

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

The best reasons will fall into "should be standards" for other companies.
Hourly pay is above local average for EMT's, but less hrs are paid
Good stepping stone for new EMT's, but recommend less than one year employment period.

    Cons

Overall, this company is horrible to work for, the management does not provide any recognition for employee's merits. Management will reward the corporate desk-pushers for a job well done, when it is the field employees who make the money for the company. Will require extra certs not necessary, and pay for fewer than average hrs per shift. Horrible communication between corporate and field employees, and management will punish readily, but not applaud merits when appropriate.

    Advice to Management

Better working conditions, better recognition of FIELD EMPLOYEE'S merits, better training for new employees (field and dispatchers), better advancement opportunities, and pay full 24hr shifts.
