    Pros

Palmetto health Baptist was a great place to work people seem to care about the pt, and each other. Palmetto Baptist had a family like feeling. The employee love coming to work.

    Cons

When Baptist and Richland came together the one hosptial the vision change it did not seem like it was about the pt but about money . And climbing to the top.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like you want to be treated.

I worked at Prisma Health Midlands full-time

    Pros

Very dedicated staff who have stayed despite a lack of wage adjustments and lots of changes; great physicians, a real commitment to quality and a positive experience.

    Cons

The recent merger feels more like a take-over; salaries not competitive.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people a competitive wage!

I have been working at Prisma Health Midlands full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

the commute is good. If you are a USC leased employee the time off is good.

    Cons

management does not listen to employees for example if you suggest that maybe new equipment be ordered they will not order it even if it is in your job description and a primary role for you to suggest new equipment and work flow improvements. Communication between departments is almost non existent causing quite a bit of confusion of course communication from the director level down is also quite bad. nothing but inter departmental sniping and power plays . no since of community or pride in the work place.

    Advice to Management

Review the Behavior of your Directors if a Director of several departments no matter how qualified she or he may seem will not listen to some one they pay for an expert opinion and wont delegate some of the work load or plan and provide for basic equipment they probably should not be a director.

    Pros

12hr shifts and overtime you can watch a live autospy

    Cons

May randomly back out of set schedule made for you if your in school nurse managers click up with certain nurses and PST mistreat patients definitely not one team as they say patient support is not their strong suit I believe all non patient support areas like radiology sterile processing surgical laboratory science etc are better to work for but CNA related work outside of endoscopy ED and outpatient don't work here you can work here for over 6year using your licence and make less than 13/hr I left and started working for myself making 16-18/hr CNA gets no appreciation unless your self employed or home health for a luxury company or traveling cna also very hard to get in unless you know someone

    Advice to Management

Great CNA better up their pay and give raises for additional training and stop blocking outside people who don't know anyone to get in thathospital

I worked at Prisma Health Midlands full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I love the diversity of the staff! There's room for advancement at all levels for people of color. This is a level one trauma center with educational opportunities abounds. They also have the wonderful technology available.

    Cons

The pay is below average and they haven't given pay raises in over a decade. The security services need an overhaul!

    Advice to Management

Really focus on fair and just compensation for the staff. It's imperative to retain good staff. Allow police substations inside each hospital to provide additional security. Also, get an entirely new security company! That will hire competent, and physically healthy security! In today's climate patient and staff, safety depends on it!
