I worked at Prisma Health Midlands part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Rewarding to work with the patients Benefits were good Consistent hours

    Cons

No raises even though we were getting additional work Work load was pretty heavy and management was not understanding Coworkers caused conflicts and there was a lot of workplace drama

    Advice to Management

Advocate for your employees more. Go out on the floor more to see the problems with payment collecting.

I have been working at Prisma Health Midlands full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - co-workers are awesome - current nurse manager easy to talk to about concerns - healthcare benefits

    Cons

-short staffed -cannot ask for PTO the week of a holiday (even if it's not your assigned holiday to work) -cannot cash out PTO value when you leave the hospital system -vesting of retirement is 5 years -some unit based policies vary from hospital policies -no raises and pay is lower (even if additional certifications are gained) -charting system is not efficient (Cerner)

    Advice to Management

    - provide incentive for your employees to want to become better/gain certifications in their respective areas without having to do a lot of paperwork - can't always ask for staff to do more with less (support/staff/supplies) and expect great patient care - kind of disheartening on your first day to see you have to be with the hospital for 22+ years just to park on the first level of the parking deck - don't ask for employee opinions if you don't plan on doing anything with the feedback. Your employees will feel like you don't care about their views.

I worked at Prisma Health Midlands full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits, able to use insurance w/in Palmetto health easily. Great coworkers/teamwork(when schedule is correct) Our manager is GREAT.

    Cons

Upper Management doesnt care about the people who do the "REAL" work. NO Raises. Short staffed. Staff who undermind their managers/charge people.

    Advice to Management

Be more attuned to your employees instead of being "the Bosses" who are dreaded. Be someone your employees can be proud of to work for..like Bill Ivey was.

I have been working at Prisma Health Midlands full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They'll basically hire anyone so go for it.

    Cons

No paid holidays. They make you use PTO for everything. Sick, vacation, holidays and only give you a few to work with each pay period. No room for advancement. If you graduate from college they don't automatically move you up. You have to work extra hard to grab those positions. No raises ever!

    Advice to Management

You should try to at least give your employees pay for Christmas Day. Out of all of the millions of dollars you make what is one day to say that you appreciate them. The money that you use on all of those mandatory meetings to say that you care when you really just want to show off can be used for that.

I have been working at Prisma Health Midlands

    Pros

Good coworkers, 12 hr shift so more days off a week.

    Cons

Gossip, management will now work with school schedules, not friendly, does not care about staff only theirselves, no raises, low payrate.

    Advice to Management

All need to be fired and new people brought in.
