I have been working at ProBuild full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoy the daily challenges customers bring their bathroom remodeling & the opportunity to assist in taking their vision to reality. I enjoy working with a friendly & talented group.

    Cons

There isn't any ongoing training & communication needs improvement. They don't seem to provide information regarding advancement.

    Advice to Management

Make available additional & ongoing training thru the many vendors we deal with. Hold staff meetings to inform of new products & seasonal merchandise.

I worked at ProBuild (More than 8 years)

    Pros

People I worked with were great. Enjoyed working on my own, solving problems and getting the job done regardless of the circumstances. My supervisor had a high approval rating of my job performance. Our customer service team ALWAYS got the job done

    Cons

I started at Probuild during the Strober-Probuild acquisition in, 2005. Good folks to work for, however the new upper management seemed to make many costly mistakes. After 10 yrs. on the job, I was laid-off by Corporate in Denver. However if it were not for the housing crash in 2009 to 2014 perhaps I may still be there.

    Advice to Management

    Keep your good employees around...

    Advice to Management

I feel we had good systems at ProBuild and BFS did not review them - our way or the highway.

I have been working at ProBuild full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I can only speak for this region as ProBuild has a large market over the US. However in this market, management is geared in making you as successful as you can be. This company gives you the tools you need to succeed that help you build relationships with your customers.

    Cons

The only flaw i believe we have as a company but is soon changing is the operating system ProEdge. It is somewhat user friendly as it is Windows based but can be complicated in certain aspects. Especially in the point of sale side of the business.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing...we're on the right path to success.

ProBuild looks to take care of the employees and customers. The operations team works well together and helps the sales team to make ProBuild a great place to work.

    Cons

The management team fails in the area of communication. The hours can be long on some days but the business gets slows in the winter.

    Management fails at communicating.

I worked at ProBuild full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere and interesting Industry with plenty of good reliable people trying to make a difference and grow the company.

    Cons

Probuild was recently bought by Buyers First Source, and smaller and non-national company. Due to the smaller company breakdown, the overarching feel of comfort and safety are lost due to the guppy eating the whale.

    Advice to Management

Be warned about your Mid-west regions. You are loosing ground fast to competitors stealing Salesman and expertise. I suggest getting them some kick back capability to compete with the local competition.

I have been working at ProBuild full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The associates at ProBuild are fantastic. Years of experience and it feels like home. Leadership has been good and will continue to be good as the acquisition by Builders First Source takes place.

    Cons

Difficult industry since the downturn in 2006/7. If you can not work with a lot of change in process, people and expectations this is not the company for you.

    Advice to Management

Pay into your associates with gratitude for the work they have done and for the work they do. Although performance and stock prices are vitally important you will not get there without recognition for ALL associates.
