I have been working at ProHEALTH Care Associates (NY) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The urgent care centers are small, so you become very close with the staff you work with. As a MA/Receptionist, you're a very integral part of the office, if the front desk chooses not to come in, you're the front desk. And even if there is a front desk that day, chances are you are seeing patients and you are also the front desk. You get to learn a lot from being in this role. Great opportunity to learn from physicians.

    Cons

Not enough staff per office. Poor compensation. Upper management expects you to do them favors, they are never grateful for your hard work. Minimal benefits: 401k, does not match. Three different healthcare plans based on benefits, end up being more expensive than the healthcare.gov options. The company does very little to thank their employees. They sometimes give out end of year bonuses. The end of year bonus last December was roughly $100.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your staff while they are still here. Whether it's a thank you email, a call, or sending the office flowers. Really anything would make your staff feel appreciated.
