I have been working at ProHEALTH Care Associates (NY) full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

This is a progressive company that values talent and hard work and often promotes from within. As an innovative organization, new ideas are met with enthusiasm. I joined ProHEALTH as a practice manager and was promoted to Director within 3 years. As a Director, I have promoted 3 team members within the last 12 months alone. A great place to develop professionally!

    Cons

Benefits are good; however, not as competitive as the nearby hospital system. However, this company continues to grow and there is much more job security for staff members who fulfill their responsibilities than there is in the hospital system.

    Advice to Management

Look into all aspects as to why tasks cannot be kept up to date or numbers are too high. It is never just one reason in a large company. All departments must always meet their requirements

    Pros

Job stability? Other than that I really can't think of anything else

    Cons

Low pay, expensive health care, zero contribution to a 401k plan, poor management, low raises,no room for advancement

Managers under-qualified for their positions. Salaries are exceptionally low so I imagine finding qualified candidates to run an office is difficult

Worst office a person can work. Hostile work environment. Pits each employee against each other. Workers encouraged to spy and squeal to manager. Low or no raises . They encourage low self esteem. Managers micromanage and are totally nasty.

    Pros

None in my experience. They will lure you in with promises of growth as they are not part of Optum. Its just a facade.

    Cons

What I observed was it is very clicky, especially in IT. I felt they were looking for outsiders to come in and be scapegoats to cover for their colleagues that they could not get rid of. Also, you are immune to all disciplinary actions if you are a relative of one of the doctors there. Some of the folks have been there forever and are well protected from pretty much anything.

    Advice to Management

Replace your suck-ups with real talent.

    Pros

There are no pros at all for this company. This company is the worst company I have ever worked for, nothing good about this company at all!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cons

30 min lunch for 12 hour shifts
manger does not care about employees
PA and LPN are so lazy and never wanted to do anything
no raise after a year working there
Benefits suck and are way TOO expensive.

    Advice to Management

Please look into the Allergy Department in Nassau/Suffolk ENT. Everything is such a mess and unorganized. Everything is always someone else's fault and somehow gets blamed for something they didn't do.Good work is never recognized unless you mess up and get in trouble for it.

I have been working at ProHEALTH Care Associates (NY) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some very qualified physicans and some that should have never been granted a medical license especially within their Urgent Care facilities.

    Cons

All the management cares about is the bottom line here. Patient care and proper medical care is not the primary concern here. There are some very good physicians within the group but I would think twice about using their Urgent Care locations. There are better choices just do your research and make sure if you go somewhere else the physician is also not associated with Pro Health. There is a reason some work in Urgent Care and not in their own practice.

    Advice to Management

There is a lot of competition in the field and you should take a better look at whats truly important.
