I have been working at ProHEALTH Care Associates (NY) full-time

    Pros

    Flexible Schedule
    Cafeteria is available in quad

    Cons

    SUPER Expensive health insurance
    Long probation period
    30 Min. of Lunch

    Advice to Management

Don't just try to expend the company, but watch over the ones that you already have. Please have a way to lower insurance expense.

I have been working at ProHEALTH Care Associates (NY) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It’s almost impossible to get fired.

    Cons

When Prohealth takes over your practice they tell you over and over again “ it will business as usual “. That’s true.... only for the honeymoon period. They then begin to systematically change each and every thing for the worse. Eventually you are way overworked and underpaid. When staff leaves ( which they will in droves) they are not replaced. You will find yourself doing the job of three people. When they stop dragging their feet and finally hire a new staff member they are generally under qualified so they are of little help it’s almost impossible to get fired. I have seen employees get away with the most outrageous behavior and at most they get a written warning, which means nothing. Raises are almost nonexistent. You have to jump threw hoops yearly in the hopes of obtaining 2%. The benefits are awful. The so called health insurance is not affordable. The vacation time is accrued monthly so maybe if your lucky you have enough time accrued by June to take a vacation. The computer system is awful and the IT department is horrendous. Corporate biggest concerns are legal. So the spend most of their time making evacuation plans for one story buildings, having fire drills, hand washing classes and the like. Meanwhile important clinical diagnostic equipment is broken ( even though its vital to the practice and revenue generating). Honestly I could go on and on.

    Advice to Management

    See cons for starters.

    Pros

Friendly people. Great staff of peers.

    Cons

This place will not pay you anything above the absolute minimum they can afford. Management is running this place into the ground and throughout my time working here, I've been very skeptical about how high level management might be taking something off the top

    Advice to Management

Review your books and maybe suggest bringing in another auditing firm aside from the one you have partnered with. Theres something really fishy going on.

I worked at ProHEALTH Care Associates (NY) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Flexible hours
Some of the other employees are good people
There are no other Pros to list about this organization.

    Cons

    -Pay is not competitive
    -Health benefits are ridiculously expensive
-2% pay raise per year is a joke
-Promotions and titles are given only to employees who know someone in upper management
-Employees work very hard for no recognition
-Management prefers to reprimand staff than build them up
-Upper management does not have a realistic idea of how unhappy most of the staff and, more importantly, the physicians are with the way this organization is being run
    -Communication is completely non-existent

    Advice to Management

A simple Google search reveals nothing but negative reviews from patients and from employees, both current a former. This should be alarming to anyone in upper management. See “Cons” listed and make improvements before the whole ship sinks.

    Pros

None, besides getting to show your next real job you've worked before. Not even a stepping stone cause you don't learn anything, simply just a line item for your resume

    Cons

Micro management, conceded and incompetent managers and no growth plans. You want to move up, you have to stick around for 15 years at a 2% raise and wait for the people ahead of you to leave or die.

    Advice to Management

Become a company, not a pathetic excuse for one

I have been working at ProHEALTH Care Associates (NY) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I can not come up with one “pro” at working for Pro Health

    Cons

Poor management, you will never advance to a higher position, Raises are 2% at most! And the staring pay is VERY low. Health benefits are over $400 a month just to cover yourself with VERY high deductibles! $1,800 per month if you need to cover a spouse and children Disorganized and morale is low to non existent in every office. There are no company bonuses. Vacation, paid time off and “breaks” are the minimum required by federal law. I work in an offIce with over 30 employees INCLUDING 7 physicians and there is NO manager. The company is too “cheap” to replace the office manager that resigned. So instead upper management has delegated the “running of the office”to 3 under qualified employees in the office. they were given a title of “team leader” w/o a raise and told them to keep things running. I deal with other Pro Health locations on a daily basis and am told similar type situations are happing companywide. Bottom line, Pro Health does NOT care about the its employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing on how you can squeeze every penny out of your employees. It is truly disgusting to work for a company that cares ZERO for its employees and its patients. Why don’t you try offering some sort of employer contributed 401K? Also, why is the cost of our health insurance so high? If yo brag that you employ over 10,000 peopywhy must our premiums be higher than ANY other health care or non health care company, for that matter. Most of your full time employees fall within the government poverty line.

    Pros

Some of the people you meet are really hard workers. That would be great to work with in another company.people who care for their pts !

    Cons

They need to care for their employees and the pts and stop trying to make it all about collecting money. People work hard to get raises they deserve!

    Advice to Management

Don’t fire the hard working employees you have. Promotion should be for hard working people not people who steal from you , and drink on the job. That makes you look crazy.

    Pros

There are on pros. Management and Human Resources are a bunch of liars. They are buying up all of Long Island so there’s no where to go

    Cons

Management has no clue. Pay is terrible. Health benefits are abominable. You can’t afford it. Raises are practically non existent. .30 a year

    Advice to Management

You want to operate like a hospital than pay like one and give better health benefits. Shame on all you.

I have been working at ProHEALTH Care Associates (NY) full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

This is a progressive company that values talent and hard work and often promotes from within. As an innovative organization, new ideas are met with enthusiasm. I joined ProHEALTH as a practice manager and was promoted to Director within 3 years. As a Director, I have promoted 3 team members within the last 12 months alone. A great place to develop professionally!

    Cons

Benefits are good; however, not as competitive as the nearby hospital system. However, this company continues to grow and there is much more job security for staff members who fulfill their responsibilities than there is in the hospital system.

    Pros

    Cons

Communication is needed . Worries about one thing at a time Cannot see whole picture

    Advice to Management

Look into all aspects as to why tasks cannot be kept up to date or numbers are too high. It is never just one reason in a large company. All departments must always meet their requirements
