I worked at ProKarma full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pros of this company, are the knowledge the CEO's have of the IT world.

    Cons

The cons would be, the employees are spread out across the country, so it's hard to have a culture or good work place environment. There's also not a lot of business supported in the Portland market yet to be able to make commission, however they are well on their way. Take my comments with a grain of salt, given I am only speaking of the Portland office. There was no culture whatsoever, the office was so outdated, I felt like I was in 1985. The majority of the employees were welcoming and friendly. However not everyone was, and many were made uncomfortable in the work environment and felt they were being micro managed and watched at all times. There was no sort of helpful ways of obtaining knowledge and if you did ask for help you were belittled, even if you were new. I lasted here for 2 months for good reason. My fellow co workers all agreed as well on the fact that there was a problem with the culture and most have wanted to leave because of it. Again, please don't take my comments as a hit on the entire company, this is purely off of my experience with the culture of the Portland office.

    Advice to Management

If I were to give advice to management, keep doing what you're doing, because your company is on the right path, and a good one at that, however, please listen to your current employees and the struggles they are having with the office structure and others there that's preventing them from being successful.

I worked at ProKarma full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very diverse service offerings with leading / cutting edge consulting practices.
    True consulting focussed company.
ProKarma puts clients and employees first with equal care. They are ready to bend over the back for customers and similarly ready to make any change in the policy to retain / show flexibility with employees.
Compensated reasonably well and above market standards.
Most of the time you get paid more than what is promised in the papers through discretionary, provided if you are top performer.
    Keep up their employee promises.
Believes in work hard and play hard.
Top management has great vision to take this consulting company to the top. Employees are rewarded for innovation and disruption.
All tier 1 companies must watch out for tough competition from ProKarma.
    Great opportunity at all levels.
Top mgmt. has grown from ground up (were engineers before) and hence understands and hears to employees problems at lowest level possible.
ProKarma will grow significantly in the next 5 years in the key technology consulting areas like integration, automation, analytics, digital, etc.
Highly result oriented in transformation consulting offering like Test Automation, DevOps, etc. Their case studies speak for it.
Top mgmt is broad minded and never minds spending extra money to keep employees happy.
Leadership has set clear priorities for the consulting organization: Customer satisfaction instead of revenue and value delivery / result orientation instead company profitability which is significantly different mindset compared to other consulting companies.
As a former employee, I am looking forward to go back to ProKarma.

    Cons

ProKarma needs focus in IP led delivery to be competitive.
If you cannot relocate or be mobile (at the full cost of employer, stay away).
    Lacks global footprint.
Regional presence in the US needs adequate sales strategy.
    Less process focus.
    Lacks enterprise tools

    Advice to Management

Offshore leadership needs more mentoring and coaching. Need more focus on branding and identity management. Need to increase your social presence. Need more drive from top leadership in structured learning & development.

I have been working at ProKarma full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Carlyle bought out what they thought was a cash cow. On the other hand, HR law firms are doing very well off of them.

    Cons

Numerous cooked reviews. Current high performers are leaving in droves. Sales operations is nonexistent and we are going to miss our numbers. Salary depends on who you know. Misogyny is also rampant as is ageism.

Gordon Gecko would be right at home.

    Advice to Management

Lock in your savings: the word on the street is that Prokarma is being shopped around after less than a year.

I have been working at ProKarma full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Little to no bureaucracy and very big aspirations
    - Family atmosphere (in Seattle at least – can’t speak to other offices) and a good focus on investing in relationships
    - Very adaptable – ProKarma sees market opportunities and they go for it.
    - ProKarma is willing to try new things while still maintaining their core competencies.

    Cons

    - Things are moving fast – it puts stress on existing processes
    - I’d like to see even more investment in intellectual property. There is some – but I would like to see more

    Advice to Management

Keep the focus on building relationships with clients and consultants.

I have been working at ProKarma full-time

    Pros

ProKarma is the best consulting firm I have worked for. Easy to do business with and very flexible. Good focus on leading technology and good talent. Down to earth executives.

    Cons

Definitely some growing pains offset by hard work and good attitudes. Some career path definition for consultants would be a useful step.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in career path development.
