I have been working at ProKarma full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

As a technical consultant, I rarely fly out of town.
Benefits are comparatively very good in the market place.
Family always comes first with the CFO sometimes chasing people out of the office at the end of the day.
Furthermore, acquisitions are viewed as growth opportunities in the acquired spaces, rather than sources of revenue where the fat can be cut.
Standard "open door" management policy where they actually listen and seriously consider change suggestions.

    Cons

Tribal knowledge is relied upon too much.
Standardized resources and documentation are rather thin.

    Advice to Management

Encourage better internal communication and integrate the new parts of the company a little faster instead of leaving the company as a federation of companies.
Don't sweat the small stuff when considering whether to provide ergonomic equipment.

I have been working at ProKarma full-time

    Pros

Comparing to Cons, I could not add any Pros

    Cons

    1. The leadership is very short cited and poor management skills.
    2. It will help us screw our career.
    3. No big customers - having couple of decent size customers, rest all tiny -
    4. Nothing called culture in this organization

    Advice to Management

Bring in broad minded and really skilled leadership.

I worked at ProKarma full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As the Org is growing, there are certain initiatives put in place for the benefits of employees including L&D. Unlike a review that there is no bench policy beyond 15 days, I have seen employees on bench for up to 6 months. If someone is let go with 2 weeks notice, thats likely because of performance issue

    Cons

There are pains of growing Org but some proactive measures can be put in place to listen to employee's feedbacks and act upon them

    Advice to Management

Adapt as the client demands are changing

I worked at ProKarma full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You get paid on time.

    Cons

ProKarma has a LOT of contracts so this probably does not apply to them all. The customer in this case was a brand new one that ProKarma took over and was expecting pretty unrealistic results from ProKarma. ProKarma just seems hesitant to push back on unrealistic customer expectations. It was somewhat telling that the majority of my co-workers were re-located from out of town and/or were on H1Bs.

    Advice to Management

If you can, hire as many H1Bs as you can since they have to put up with unrealistic conditions without complaint. While that may sound tongue in cheek, if employee retention is your goal, having a captive audience would help. In my case, being a US citizen, I could just find something that gave me a better work/life balance.
