I have been working at Progressive Insurance (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The Company has worked hard to define itself as a market leader while preserving the individuality of its employees. You can still be creative while meeting the goals and strategy statement and management actually listens to make improvements.

    Cons

With substantial growth there have been growing pains- specifically some of the systems being outdated, There have been many improvements made, but still trying to catch up in the claims area.

    Advice to Management

Continue to refine systems for efficiency and stay engaged at the base levels of the company. The strength of the company are the people who come to work everyday.

I worked at Progressive Insurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I learned an incredible amount working here, which prepared me to be successful in future companies and roles.

    Cons

There is an incredible amount of work, and even more micro management. I ultimately left because I felt like I was getting the run around.

    Pros

    Salary, benefits, coworkers, large company

    Cons

Just like every other claims job work load is unpredictable. I love some of the people I work with and dislike others. All kinds of opportunity in Cleveland but not too much in Denver.

I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Progressive hires great people. They have a knack for acquiring great talent.

    Cons

They are extremely biased against veterans & people with commitments outside of work. Unless you have kids, there is no leeway given to you for family/friend emergencies. If you want to take time off work, you have to request it a minimum of 2 months out. The financial compensation offered is not worth the work required, especially if you're a salaried or "non-exempt" employee.

    Advice to Management

Modernize your processes & technology. Make your pay competitive to the market.
