I worked at Progressive Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Great management and team members.

    Cons

Work load. Some silly policies regarding how things must be done that don't make sense and cause you to repeat work sometimes.

    Advice to Management

    none

I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I came in through the NEW PILOT TRAINING PROGRAM!! Amazing structure and process versus the old training program. Great Pay!! Great benefits!! Coming from a sales background the hours are perfect for me. Remote capabilities for those times you may be sick or have a sick child. Very family friendly.

    Cons

Time away from family during training. As I said I was in the pilot training program which decreased time away from two weeks away to one week away. Other than that I’m pleased.

    Advice to Management

I’m still fairly new so I will reserve this for a later update in about a year. (Setting calendar event to update 😉)

I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time

    Pros

Company culture is fantastic. Such a diverse group of people and benefits are great.

    Cons

Don't really have any cons however I wouldn't recommend being in the call center for more than a year or 2, it gets old fast.

    Advice to Management

I think management does a great job.

I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company’s culture is amazing! Senior leaders are down to earth and really care about employees as people. Progressive is growing rapidly and this is a exciting time to be a part of such a great company.

    Cons

The company does not see the negative impact to the employees of some of the cost cutting measures they enact.

    Advice to Management

Don’t loose the small company feeling that has made Progressive so successful over the years.

I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Progressive is a great company in terms of its culture. The ceo has the right vision. The pay is decent but the workload is beyond reasonable for the level of pay.

    Cons

Claims is a brutal industry and there is no roadmap for success. You must learn on your own and unfortunately learn from your own mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Training in Cleveland was very wasteful from a cost perspective. Many treated the 2 week trip as a vacation and I can honestly say the training did not prepare me whatsoever for the real job. I think this role requires a 3 month hands on training program to truly be successful. I felt lost and am still struggling 5 months into the role. Management should revamp the training and on-boarding process as it was very ineffective.
