I have been working at Prompt Ambulance Service full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for until the union showed up. Then people who should have been fired for valid reasons got protected. Company has to deal with people refusing calls even thought that happens at every other EMS company in America people got entitled and decided they could start just refusing any cause they want to refuse including nine-one-one call which should have you be fired immediately

    Cons

Only con I can think of is the Union there needs to be a vote to take the Union's bargaining power cuz it has done nothing for the employees

    Advice to Management

Find those people who do things that they not supposed to do and fire them

They need to pay their workers a wage that they can support a family on.

    Advice to Management

    PAY MORE!

I worked at Prompt Ambulance Service full-time

    Pros

Good mixture of call experience available

    Cons

Poorly managed, low wages, poorly maintained vehicles and no room for advancement

    Advice to Management

Get someone educated who also knows the job to run the place, and let them run it.

I worked at Prompt Ambulance Service full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent place to start off and gain experience working on an ambulance. Plenty of overtime.

    Cons

Poor management, constant schedule changes, mediocre pay. Vehicles were in poor condition. Management doesn't listen to their employees. Will hire anyone with a pulse and certs so you'll work with some questionable people.

I worked at Prompt Ambulance Service full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Your later employees will like that you have "EMT" down. Decent level of emergencies if posted in Gary, East Chicago, Griffith...

    Cons

Poorly managed, Crews run ragged, Awful work environment.

    Advice to Management

Care a little more about the crews. They are there to run your business for you and you could respect them a little more. Get better equipment, better rigs, be more responsive to employee requests.

I have been working at Prompt Ambulance Service part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoy having a flexible schedule and not working weekends

    Cons

Ambulance's are never cleaned, there are organisms not known to men that have been found after being swabbed, low pay 💰, they run you from one call to the next with no time to get anything to eat, they love to hold you over an hour past your 42 time

    Advice to Management

I would advise the CEO to take a leadership class, and actually value and listen to your employees complaints and try to compromise, also a 2 female crews should not be dispatched to pick up a patient over 250 lbs

    Pros

Privately owned, consciences, community motivated, Co-office workers are a pleasure to work with, I'm allowed to do a variety of jobs which keeps it interesting.

    Cons

High turn over due to the fact that this is the first job for a lot of the field associates and they don't understand what service industry means

I worked at Prompt Ambulance Service full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Sorry but there is no pros for working at prompt. They were getting to big and did not know how to grow and thrive.

    Cons

Management and owners are incompetent. Company did not take care of their equipment and had several broken down vehicles. Company did not pay well and had not raised the minimum pay since 2005. Raises were a joke, 35 cents a year. With a low ceiling so that veterans of the company would want to leave and work elsewhere for more pay.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company to someone who cares about their employees. Stop running the company like a prison and give the employees their voice back.
