I have been working at Prompt Ambulance Service full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Privately owned, consciences, community motivated, Co-office workers are a pleasure to work with, I'm allowed to do a variety of jobs which keeps it interesting.

    Cons

High turn over due to the fact that this is the first job for a lot of the field associates and they don't understand what service industry means

I worked at Prompt Ambulance Service full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Your later employees will like that you have "EMT" down. Decent level of emergencies if posted in Gary, East Chicago, Griffith...

    Cons

Poorly managed, Crews run ragged, Awful work environment.

    Advice to Management

Care a little more about the crews. They are there to run your business for you and you could respect them a little more. Get better equipment, better rigs, be more responsive to employee requests.

I have been working at Prompt Ambulance Service part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoy having a flexible schedule and not working weekends

    Cons

Ambulance's are never cleaned, there are organisms not known to men that have been found after being swabbed, low pay 💰, they run you from one call to the next with no time to get anything to eat, they love to hold you over an hour past your 42 time

    Advice to Management

I would advise the CEO to take a leadership class, and actually value and listen to your employees complaints and try to compromise, also a 2 female crews should not be dispatched to pick up a patient over 250 lbs

I worked at Prompt Ambulance Service full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Sorry but there is no pros for working at prompt. They were getting to big and did not know how to grow and thrive.

    Cons

Management and owners are incompetent. Company did not take care of their equipment and had several broken down vehicles. Company did not pay well and had not raised the minimum pay since 2005. Raises were a joke, 35 cents a year. With a low ceiling so that veterans of the company would want to leave and work elsewhere for more pay.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company to someone who cares about their employees. Stop running the company like a prison and give the employees their voice back.

I worked at Prompt Ambulance Service full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Had a nice health insurance, including vision & dental, 401k w/ company match.

    Cons

Don't seem to care about employees. Lots of turnover. Low pay & raises (if you even get one). Upper management doesn't lacks direction. They seem to make irrational decisions, don't think things through. So many changes in the last 6 months and no communication or honesty with staff! They don't seem to appreciate hard work & dedication.

    Advice to Management

Think about your employees. Your turnover rate should say something. Trust your good managers that actually want to fix the problems. Listen to their honest opinions. Don't punish them because they don't tell you what you want to hear.

I worked at Prompt Ambulance Service full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    A paycheck and benefits.

    Cons

The ambulances are all out dated some leaking exhausted into the driver and patient compartment. Supervision had a lack of leadership and played favoritism. Owner states he planned on making changes to the service after a vote for the union to came in. The younger crew members believed the lies that were feed to them. NOTHING CHANGED ONLY GOT WORST.

    Advice to Management

    Take some leadership courses.
