I worked at Proof Positive ABA Therapies part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay rate is competitive. You can use your phones gps to "clock in" instead of using a sign in sheet. I learned how not to supervise my therapists. This honestly helped me become a better supervisor.

    Cons

some BCBA's are rude and condescending. you don't feel very appreciated at this company. They also don't seem to value your time. They would regularly schedule me to go out to "mandatory trainings" which is about a 2 hour drive for me, and they wouldn't give me much of an advanced notice. I am a BCBA now, but at the time I was finishing up my MA. The training was geared towards teaching the basics, and they still...

    Advice to Management

Make sure you value your therapists' time. The work is hard for the amount of pay they get they could use some more appreciation. Make sure your supervisors use a BST to train the therapists. When I was a therapist their I got none of that. In fact, a supervisor yelled at me in front of the client for not "blocking" (function of the behavior was attention) he wanted to be chased, but the supervisor assumed he was...

    Pros

You make your own schedule and can work from home on reports, emails, etc. It's hit or miss, but there are some really amazing BCBAs and Clinical Directors who are wonderful to work with and great to learn from. Pay is decent. You have to meet 115 billable hours in a month, but you get a bonus if you work more than 120 billable hours (which is nice). If you get lucky, you can have some really amazing staff.

    Cons

Supervisors are severely overworked, as evidenced by the fact that 6 have resigned in the past month (and I know of at least 4 more that are interviewing elsewhere with plans to resign). The number of cases they give is too many to be able to provide quality supervision and support to staff and families (it spreads us too thin). They are also constantly bombarding you with more and more mandatory admin work, which takes...

    Advice to Management

ABA is about people. It should NEVER be about business. If you are in this field, it should be because you care for and want to help others. EVERY SINGLE DECISION should be made with the client's well-being in mind, first and foremost, and employee well-being second. Keep in mind, if you take good care of your employees, they will take good care of the clients. If the clients are happy, they will spread word to their...

    Pros

Training is a plus, however; they are a disorganized company.

    Cons

As a part time employee, there are no benefits. You have to drive your own car to the client’s home without compensation.

    Advice to Management

This company has a lot of turn over.

    Pros

The kids are great to work with if this is the field you really want to go into.

    Cons

This company is a mess. The cancellation policy alone is an ambiguous complicated nightmare. They send you your paycheck 10 days after the pay periods. The contract they have you sign upon employment holds you hostage to the company for a year.

    Advice to Management

If you state in contracts that you compensate gas mileage, you should also note that commuter miles are not included.

I have been working at Proof Positive ABA Therapies part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Quick at hiring after interview and pay is pretty competitive compared to companies within the industry.

    Cons

Very disorganize & slow in assigning new cases, and some BCBAs aren't as thorough in going over program in new cases. Some treat BTs like they are second-class citizens, with such inferiority! Overpromised and under delivered - not a good thing! What are we modeling to others? We are behaviorists and educators! We ought to hold ourselves to a higher standard of integrity and excellence! How can we honestly...

    Advice to Management

Listen and care about the company's BTs as much as the bottom line of the company because BTs ARE the backbone of the company! Without caring, hard working, and diligent BTs the company wouldn't survive for long as the competition is fierce! Just look at how many companies are out there recruiting your hard working BTs! I know because I've been approached numerous times. Thankfully, I haven't had the need to...

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Proof Positive ABA Therapies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This is a great company to work for if you are already an experienced ABA therapist and know what you're in for in the home therapy spectrum. They have a great set up that provides some opportunity to pick up sub work in the event that it's a holiday season. You can also choose to work as much or as little as you like with a decent hourly salary, and a more or less flexible schedule with hours that you choose to work.

    Cons

Depending on the supervisor you get, you have a lot of support or very little. If I was just starting out in ABA it would be difficult to decern what the right thing to do is on a day to day. There is little room for advancement once you've established yourself unless you are pursuing a Master's degree and they are very strict about an average of 36 hours a week to qualify for benefits that aren't all that great to...

    Cons

Schedules seemed to change frequently which can make it difficult once you build rapport with a client and then are taken of the case.

    Advice to Management

Supervisor was excellent and very knowledgeable
