RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Proofpoint full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Competitive salaries and a mature management team. Great place to land and grow.
Cons
Getting to be more structured and static. Opportunities to move and grow are becoming scarce, and movement up or even laterally is super political.

Pros
So many pros to the Broomfield office. It's a great team. Every single employee there is so respectful and nice. Management is caring, and fosters a culture of respect. It's got great diversity. As a female developer this is the first place in my entire career where I don't feel like the "female" engineer, I just feel like an engineer! The product is really cool and it feels like you truly get to make a... difference by making the world a little bit safer. So grateful I get to be a part of this company. I'm very excited about the future of the Proofpoint.

Like any company it has challenges but they really are working hard to improve, and are putting in new processes all the time. I don't feel like there are many, but just for the sake of writing a complete review I'll put a couple. I'm happy that they have a 401k match but it could be slightly larger, and snack budget could be a little larger as well (although they have good coffee and that's all I need to be... happy).

No company is perfect, this is no different. That said, when you have a good culture and people around you can put up with the little stuff.

"No Career Path and Subtle Sexism"

Doesn't RecommendPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Proofpoint full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Work life balance Good pay Collaborative Work culture Technology driven Use of latest and greatest technology trends
Cons
1. For Engineering org - Subtle form of sexism - Women are hired to get the job done but no career path is provided, no promotions. For any opportunity to grow into leadership position - 99% of the time a Male is hired from outside to lead (often times less experience and not qualified) 2. No Career development opportunity 3. lately hiring is pretty much driven with heavy influence from referrals hence ... quality of hires has slided to new lows. 4. In last 1 year, Few of Engineering executives hired don't event have experience and qualification for first line managers. 5. No interest in employee retainment, Management don't care even if their best people leave.

"Run for the hills! Find a better work environment!"

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo opinion of CEOI worked at Proofpoint full-time
Pros
There's a variety of food trucks that come onsite. However, they need to bring on healthier options for their employees.
Cons
There is a reason why employees only stay at Proofpoint for 1 year or less. It really comes down to the management style and how recruiting coordinators are being treated. The worst feeling is when a manager makes you feel invaluable and that you are replaceable. At times, many of my colleagues felt afraid to approach the manager. Proofpoint is an environment where you can put your head down and work, but never... feel happy.

Be more approachable Listen to your employee's concerns and immediately address them Don't snap your fingers at your employees and belittle them *MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO CHANGE*

"Great Tech, Good Office Culture, Terrible pay grade"
StarStarStarStarStar- Work/Life Balance

- Career Opportunities
- Compensation and Benefits
- Senior Management
Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo opinion of CEOI have been working at Proofpoint full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
The Tech is great, customers are impressed and loyal to base products even with the high pricing. Office culture strikes a good balance between friendly and professional.
Cons
Less than 5% of people actually hit their unramped quota along the entire commercial team companywide (~200 reps). Whatever your On Target Earnings may be, take your incentive, cut it in half and that's where you'll likely end up at the end of the year. Attainment plans are way too unrealistic and since management shows no signs of changing this, it appears to be intentional.

"Worst Sales job of my Career"

Doesn't RecommendNo opinion of CEOI worked at Proofpoint full-time for more than a year
Pros
Good products, leader in the space, there are some really good and smart people. They hire quality people (but can't retain them). There's pretty good work/life balance.
Cons
The culture of the sales team is awful. You are not treated like a person. Morale is very low. It's common for management to pass by not even say hello or make eye contact. There are good managers on some teams, but other managers that micromanage their experienced and capable reps as if they are in their first sales job out of college. Deals will get ripped away from you mid sales cycle. The other reviews about... Legal obstacles and doing everything they can to keep you from getting paid commission are absolutely TRUE. Because of all these things, there is massive turnover on the sales teams, with the most experienced salespeople leaving.
Show MoreAdvice to Management
Management changes are needed. Hire some actual leaders. Treat people like valued employees. Create better processes for Legal and Order Fulfillment. Stop trying to prevent sales people from making money.

Pros
Great stepping stone into SAAS
Cons
Top Execs do not care for the inside sales team at all. Turn over is at an all time high. Top talent cant even attain quota due to unrealistic goals, account patches, and price point.
Advice to Management
Push back on upper leadership or the inside time will die.

"You wan't a salary raise at Proofpoint? Quit and come back after 6 months."
StarStarStarStarStar- Work/Life Balance
- Culture & Values
- Career Opportunities
- Compensation and Benefits
- Senior Management
RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Proofpoint full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
Solid company with year-over-year growth... Industry leading products, Stock options, decent work environment i.e. the people .
Cons
Salary and OTE is on the low end of the competitive spectrum. There is now annual cost of living increase for those in non-commissioned or capped commissioned roles... The running joke regarding any kind of pay increase is you have to quit and come back after 6 months and you will get a higher base and more stock shares. There are loyal employees that have stayed and are still earning the same base salary they... were offered when hired 2, 3 or more years ago... Others have quit and come back at higher salaries to do the same job. And new highers in the same roles, are coming in at a higher salary...
Show MoreAdvice to Management
Where's the incentive? You've got loyal employees that have struggled through the multiple changes that have been made to the Rules of Engagement and channels they can sell to. Take care of those that are loyal. Paying someone more that quits and comes back is a slap in the face and to pay a new employee a higher base salary to do the same job, is insulting... The cost of living goes up every year, your employees... salary should be adjusted annually to accommodate.
