      Sad to see this company is still standing

      Pros

      Great benefits, great pay, great snacks

      Cons

      Important leaders that made this organization stand tall are now gone. The two offices are not synced. Management team is NOT good. During layoffs one of the directors was laughing and saying "it is what it is" "they still have food to eat"

      Pros

      At first this company was promising. Great product and i felt like i was a part of a company. Great benefits and AMAZING people who work here.

      Cons

      Company bit more than they can chew and. Peoples jobs were lost at the expense of how the market looked and the internal decisions made from the time i was employed. some processes was pretty much made on the spot.

      Tough times...

      Pros

      Great people at the individual contributor level. Unique industry with a whole lot of potential (if someone gets it right). Snacks are always stocked. Great benefits: 5% 401k match, fitness reimbursement, commuter subsidy, 100% medical, dental, and vision, etc.

      Cons

      Ultimately the overall health of an organization is a reflection of the executive team and works it way down. The executive staff was a carousel of people between 2015-2016. Someone with a "C" in their title was fired about every 2 months, no exaggeration. It was interesting a sign of a much larger problem internally. Prosper was not set up to succeed. It was odd that they always talked about transparency but weren't transparent. The company scaled way too fast due to seemingly to greed. Prosper Day was fun though. Roll out a rebrand, share a couple TV commercials, have an executive fashion show sporting the new colors, and then a few days later tell the company that we're on a hiring freeze and that the business is hurting. Hire as many people as possible, rent a bunch of space in SF & Phx, build a new office in Salt Lake, and lay off 28% of the company and sublease the extra space. I fear that tougher times are ahead. That said, there are far worse places to work. If you just need a job and are hurting to get back to work, this may be a good fit.

      @Cutting edge of Fintech

      Pros

      Overall : Growing rocket-ship of a company on the cutting edge of Fintech. I did my research on fintech before joining. There has been 4X investment in Fintech in the last year compared to the year before. Prosper is a pioneer in the p2p lending industry and has been doing it for a long time. This company is poised to be a winner in a exciting new market. Company culture : It's fun, informal and everyone around seems to have a good time doing what they do. People take their jobs seriously. Benefits : Great benefits. Easy access to Bart for my commute. The kitchen is well stocked, they have a gazillion options for coffee @work and a Philz coffee is only a block away.

      Cons

      My commute is a little longer but I am taking advantage by catching up on my reading materials on Bart.
