I have been working at Prosperity Bank full-time

    Pros

Large, Stable Company. The people in the banking centers are (usually) great and you can have a good career with the bank if you make an effort.

    Cons

Too many hoops to jump through to get things done. CEO seems out of touch with the associates.

    Advice to Management

Know your staff. Care about them. Make it less miserable to get things done.

    Pros

I loved the people I work with.

    Cons

CHEAP. I got a 5 cent raise. Wasn't long after that I quit. Also, you have to give an arm and a leg to get time off.

I have been working at Prosperity Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Independence from micro management. Well capitalized. Very conservative bank with very low non performing assets and loan losses. Located primarily in Texas.

    Cons

Extreme expense containment. Very conservative loan approval structure which prohibits loan growth. Very few employee development programs that encourage or motivate employees.

    Advice to Management

Increase authority levels for middle management and ease up on expense containment and loan approvals to foster long term internal growth.

    Pros

Work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. You get most holidays off and you really get a great experience of what it takes to become a personal banker.

    Cons

The pay is horrible compared to other banks.
Advancement is there, if you are a favorite.

    Advice to Management

Offer some sort of incentive, employee acknowledgement or some sort of program that keeps your employees up-beat and ready to work.

Getting to meet many different people from the community is a definite pro. Not that complicated of an occupation.

    Cons

Can get very slow at times. Some days just sitting on a chair. Not much of a team environment, most employees are only worried about themselves.
