I have been working at Protiviti full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have worked at Protiviti for 8+ years and have really enjoyed my experience at the firm. There is definitely less structure than larger consulting firms, but with that comes more opportunity for exposure, promotions, etc.

    Cons

Lack of structure often leads to frustration and "bumpiness" in execution and other internal processes.

    Advice to Management

Make more strategic investments, do not be afraid to take risks .

I have been working at Protiviti full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great variety of experience, Motivated, bright, and fun people at the consultant/senior conultant and Director and above levels

    Cons

The range of projects you get on can be very random, Middle management often feels complacent, Lack of clarity around the promotion cycle

    Advice to Management

Leadership could be more transparent about the decision making process behind promotions. Lack of specific development feedback can lead to consultants/senior consultants being unsure of what they need to work on to be promoted.

I have been working at Protiviti full-time

    Pros

Highly recommended especially for fresh graduates/young professionals, very high career potential and such a friendly environment (Thats a hit an miss depending on your team and MD), definitely big 2 in the region (GCC)

    Cons

Salaries are not as competitive as other consulting firms in the market considering Protiviti`s market share. almost usually seen as the underdog while that is not true (atleast in the market I am working in)

    Advice to Management

You`re doing great, try to focus on brand value as it will help with the employees brand loyalty.

I have been working at Protiviti full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company still has feeling of being "newer" - therefore opportunity to make difference, get involved with new evolving products/services; management culture is really one of inclusion and making people feel comfortable with voicing opinions

    Cons

Like any consulting gig, work/life balance is a challenge. It is what you make of it and how you manage it. Company isn't going to bend over backwards to change that because it's the nature of the business.

    Advice to Management

Work to ensure culture is established and maintained in regional offices the same as the major offices.

I have been working at Protiviti full-time

    Pros

Protiviti offers a lot of flexibility. Great people and environment. Everyone on your team is there to help you. You can be put a large variety of projects if you ask your advisors, which can be a very educational experience in your first year or two.

    Cons

The pay is lower compared to competitors. Some projects you might work alot (50-70 hour weeks) and there is no overtime. There is a bonus program, however it may take up to a year to be enrolled into the program depending on when you join, so at times there are not many incentives to work long hours week after week on a project with no extra pay.

    Advice to Management

There seems to be a lot of employees that leave at C2 before Senior Consultant or even at Consultant 1. I believe this is because the pay does not compare to other consulting companies, and the bonuses are not immediate.
