    Pros

    Great team of professionals, Room for growth within company.

    Cons

    High turnover (not because of management.. more because of the workload and intensity of the population we serve). Pay is not competitive compared to county and other similar Mental Health programs.

    I have been working at Providence Community Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Loved working with the youth and families. Very passionate staff that truly made a difference for hundreds of youths.

    Cons

    -Management prioritized the accrual of billable hours over the well- being of the clients. Both goals didn't always overlap. --
    -Management sought to foment competition and was manipulative with staff. These are tactics for sales teams, not mental health providers.
    -Low pay. If you want to treat staff like salespeople, pay them like salespeople.

    I have been working at Providence Community Services full-time

    Pros

    The company offers health benefits (even though it's not the best insurance) and 80 hours of vacation/sick time a year to full-time employees! Better than nothing, I guess.

    Cons

    Families are unreliable and cancel often, then you're stuck with no pay. You tend to travel a large distance between cases. Some families are hard to please and try to take advantage of you as a babysitter. If families aren't happy they can call the office and request a new staff worker and then you lose a case and Providence hires new employees again. Office staff never supports you on difficult cases with difficult families, you're just a dime a dozen. All the company cares about is making a big profit.

    Advice to Management

    Step being so concerned about the profit and focus more on the needs of the families. Most families you can't change and catering to them isn't going to help the situation. The whole company is a joke. You can't expect to change the behavior of a child if the parents continue to act like complete but cases.

    You attempt to help someone in need.

    Cons

    So many... Where do I begin? Administration sucks, pay sucks, benefits sucks, environment sucks, run as fast as you can..

    Advice to Management

    Buy a new heart.

    Pros

    I enjoyed some of the clients I got to provide treatment to and watch grow.

    Cons

    The director was not supportive of her team, and the communication between staff was an issue. There was also favoritism and differential treatment towards staff.

    Advice to Management

    Take better care of your employees and stop being so money oriented.

    The staff is awesome! And our participants are amazing never have worked with such wonderful people!

    Cons

    Pay is not what I would like it to be and the benefits are less than desirable.
