I worked at Provident Bank full-time

    Pros

Great work environment, upper management is easily accessible.

    Cons

The systems and programs used to process any project were not up to par to a financial institutions standards, for example excel forms used were very broad and created internally, and this is not just in my department, others as well.

I have been working at Provident Bank part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The ESOP is generous, by market standards.

    Cons

A managerial mish mash, caused by vague, incomplete or non-existent reference materials. Too often, two employees two different answers. My department has had increased responsibilities and decreased resources. I know through time that other departments are suffering the same. Many employees and customers will agree that the bank puts the interests of the Board of Directors, and profits, over good products and services. This bank is expensive, and by much, and expects much of its employees and customers, but gives very little from its part. I do not recommend this as a job, nor as a place to business. If I care about you, I wouldnt do that.

    Advice to Management

Get away from you Ivory Tower, and see how your employees struggle, while you reap big financial benefits, by starving us of resources, so you can reap your bonuses and increased stock value. Beware of the cautionary tale.

    Pros

Not much to do when branch is slow. Great customers.

    Cons

Management doesn't know what to do. Have to teach yourself. No proper training is giving.

    Advice to Management

Learn all roles and understand operations
