I have been working at Prudential full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Prudential has many business opportunities within its US Businesses. Commitment to diversity, innovation, development and work life balance is apparent throughout all of them.

    Cons

Much like all companies benefits are a huge investment from the employer. Prudential takes benefits seriously and has put together a competitive package for its employees. However, benefits are costly.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Leadership is mostly transparent to all levels of employees. Strategy is clear and communication is solid. Leaders of people are encouraged to continually develop their leadership skills. These are the makings of a good company to work for.

I worked at Prudential full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Keeping in mind that it is a sales position, the current setup for the Michigan office is one of an upward trajectory, led by all levels of management. They train well, bringing in and utilizing lots of resources, and they themselves have been successful in the career, so they know what it takes.
Hard work, but they will put in equal amounts of hard work into you.
Earnings are basically unlimited (dependent on individual sales), with generous bonus structure.
Benefits are great, including 401k, pension, health, dental, among much more.

    Cons

Pay is commission only. While they put money into a "pool" to make sure you get paychecks over a period of time, it is all dependent on actual production, with no base salary. Not necessarily a con, but not for everyone.
Again, not necessarily a con, but at least at the beginning, requires more than a typical 9-5 schedule. Make your own schedule, which has its benefits, but must be structured, and often requires work into the evenings as you work to build up your book of business (though not necessarily required).

I have been working at Prudential full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work life balance is great! My manager and team are awesome, and the main reason why I love working here. There's a lot to know in this job but the fact that I can offer products and services from multiple companies (not just prudential) creates definite credibility with my clients.

    Cons

Because there's so much information that has to be mastered to perform in this job, it can be challenging at times. Technology and products are changing constantly so you have to stay on top of that which can be time consuming. Also while some systems are new others are from a by gone era.

    Advice to Management

    Keep improving technology

I worked at Prudential full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay and good benefits. Employee opinion survey is a good way to express opinions to upper management. Also, good career opportunities available via the job posting board.

    Cons

This will be true almost anywhere, but as IT professional, the hours could sometimes be long. They will use you as hard as you let them, so you need to know when to stand firm and stress work/life balance, which they are very supportive of.
