I have been working at Prudential plc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There is a real feeling of 1 team. Everyone is really hands on and works together with same end goal...the customer.

Lots of change and department getting a whole big facelift to bring into the digital world. This brings it's own challenges but those who are willing to grab them have the potential to really go far.

Also...as with all things new and changing...you have the opportunity to shape how the future looks and you are encouraged to do so.

    Cons

Systems are inadequate and parking has become a nightmare. Still better than city centre though.

    Advice to Management

    Know your business
Be more visible....this is senior managers I mean!

    Pros

Good regional network, federated model so local entities are relatively independent, and yet able to leverage on expertise across the region.

    Cons

Generally, local business has poor human resource management with insufficient attention towards on executive training and development, or cross-placements.
Promotions are handed out based on years of service, or to fill out gaps at the top, rather than assessment of an individual's real competency or capability to lead.

    Advice to Management

Leverage on Prudential's global footprint - across insurance and asset management - in order to groom and grow your talent pool.

    Pros

It's a relaxed work environment and leaves you good time to focus on your other career plans - particularly continuing education. Plus the company provides good support for Actuarial education.

    Cons

The career growth is rather slow and rigid.

    Advice to Management

There should be a market competitive study support for Actuarial.

    Pros

I'm talking from the agent's perspective so emplyed staffs, sorry. Good communication between the top management and the employee especially the agency force. Takes feedbacks seriously and the processing of the paper works andclaims are efficient too, though sometimes there are cocks up but a few bugging on the phone will get it done in no time.

    Cons

Agent's perspective: Sell or you eat peanuts.

    Advice to Management

Agent perspective as usual, should have general insurance products lineups and a basic pay as other companies are poaching away agents with attractive basic + comms packages.
