I worked at Psion full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Changed strategic direction too many times, tried to be all things to all customers

    Advice to Management

Company has now been sold to Motorola Solutions

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Psion full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very flexible work schedule, friendly co-workers

    Cons

Major communication issues. Upper management did not communicate properly with lower management. After years of no raises and yearly layoffs due to the economy we were bought out by Motorola solutions and left in limbo for 3-4 months. Then told us they were going to keep us and grow the dept. Gave us a rate increase and went over benefits package for the year then two weeks later were told that our jobs were being outsourced to Mexico. Very confusing emotional roller coaster ride. Glad it is over.

    I worked at Psion full-time

    Pros

Fantastic team pulling together to do great work.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the team slowly broke up as people moved on once Motorola acquisition was announced.

    Advice to Management

Wish you'd held out for another year prior to selling the business.

I worked at Psion full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits were excellent, opportunity to take courses and seminars to enhance your skills and experiences

    Cons

As the company was acquired by MSI, the people started to loose moral although most of us were still hopeful to gain continuous employment but that did not happen. The job function in the department was relocated to another country, hence so many talented and skilled workers were impacted here.

I have been working at Psion full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice learning environment with a lot of technical challenges. I found the technology and verticals to be a new world for me, so it's a step up in my career to have seen so many new things. And learned a lot extra about doing channel business.

    Cons

Middle and senior management sometimes loose track of why we all do our job. Winning and making money should always be the business-objective, but you can't drop the focus on other important factors for employees.

    Advice to Management

Pay some attention to simple employee questions and respect the needs of certain individuals.
