I worked at Public Consulting Group as a contractor

    Pros

The office environment was always friendly and productive. Enjoyed working with the other contractors.

    Cons

PCG is a great company outside of this division, but the IMS manager was very vague with expectations to the team and was either traveling or in their office with the door closed.

    Advice to Management

Clear and concise expectations are crucial to your teams performance. An open door policy would help as well.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Public Consulting Group full-time

    Pros

Great clients, exciting work, wonderful staff

    Cons

Top management lacks the skill to cultivate a thriving professional services firm. A few poor, selfish leaders create a culture that does not afford most staff an environment to thrive.

    Advice to Management

Hire a COO that can reshape the culture and address the leadership shortfalls.

I have been working at Public Consulting Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Allows opportunity for individuals to add to their resume. Plenty of special projects to take part of that are outside of the scope you are hired for.

    Cons

Management in the organization is disconnected from staff. A high percentage of "leadership" does not believe in growing their staff or treating them with fairness. There is so much that could be done to make it better, but the people that need to listen, don't.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at what is happening and make the "right" changes.
